Zz'Rot Portal needs a buff

item 3512 is just not really worth getting. The stats are nice, but the active leaves alot to be desired. The little critters are far too weak. Just minion waves alone prevent them from ever reaching a destination, and they die to easy and do too little damage to minions. You literally have to place the thing Right next to a structure in a pushed lane that you keep pushed for it to have any hope of doing anything.

Portal minions need better hp, do more damage to minions, and spawn faster maybe. Something. The item isnt worth the stats alone, and the active is essentially useless.

I agree. you don't want it to be too strong, but at the same time it has to have some more worth to make it an option. Only time I have found I could use it was when I dominated my lane and enemy sat under turret and I was strong enough to stand outside range with the portal. But in that case I might as well just run in and hit the tower a couple times each wave and it seems to do just as much. Maybe I am not playing the right champs that can use it or am doing it wrong but I just can't see the point.

The only thing I might like to see buffed is the lifetime of the Voidlings before the auto-expire, but honestly the item might just be too annoying to deal with if you could place the portal in a really safe position. They actually do pretty significant damage to structures, especially after the last buff, and the item is just barely gold-efficient, too. I think the main reason we don't see it more is simply that there are plenty of better items for fighting enemy champions, which is usually more important.

If nothing else, I think it's a good item to trade back and forth with Guardian Angel in ultra-late game scenarios, so you can take advantage of both cooldowns.

The problem is the Voidlings can rarely get to a tower. Unless your right there keeping waves pushed, minions waves alone will effectivley keep them from tower. For it to work, you need

  1. No enemy at the structure 2)You personally need to be right there at the structure killing minion waves
  2. Needs to be almost right by a structure

In any situation where the voidlings can reliably get to a structure, you might as well be there hitting it yourself and spending the money on a more useful item

Hmm, maybe, I honestly haven't tested it enough to have a stronger opinion.

Well yeah, it's a late game item with the way it's made. The voidlings from it scale up with the armor and magic resist that you have.. so you need to be a full tank in order for it to be of any use.

I'd allow it to be buffed if it became targettable by spells, ever tried to kill ona these being guarded by a heimer and a shaco? Getting in AA range is a death sentence and the thing lasts more than 2 minutes.

It doesnt need a raw power increase, i think. It should have a range increase, IMO. Make the voidlings timer reset to 50% once they reach the turret zone.

No, you have it mixed up. The active is strong but the stats suck. No one buys a GA for the stats the same way no one buys ZZ rot for the stats.

The problem is, most of the time you'll want to buy other items instead of it to continue being relevant in the game. I've seen people buy it and siege with it super effectively. I've also bought it myself while I'm super ahead just to style on the enemy. A few times, in the super lategame, I've bought it just for the active. Then I'd go back to fountain and sell it for another item because I only needed it for pushing power against super minions.

I love it as a support item.

Armor, MR, +MS near turrets make a happy support running around dropping buffs and auras.

Minions explode on turrets and do not insignificant damage; they do a damn good job of holding off supers too. Nevermind having the out-of-lane gold gen style of old Heimer turrets.

Zz'rot is amazing.
