What do you do as support when adc won't help you ward the bot lane bushes?

Lapis··18 votes·10,580 views

I don't have my warding quest done, my trinket can't keep the bush warded at all times, and Nautilus keeps on hooking from the bush like an asshole. Starting to get tilted. What do I do?

stand behind them and treat them like a minion you're using to avoid skillshots until they do.

you let them die, eventually they will learn. Oh hey! this is the 9th time nautilus hooked me from this bush. man I wish I could see him. a few more hooks later..... hey I should drop a ward in that bush.

just let natural selection do its magic [sg-miss-fortune]

More like, "flame my support for not warding enough, because that's not my job," even though the support literally can't ward more at that time lol

unfortunately they both happen at the same time. you get flamed while they learn

If they're not warding, don't push. Stay back and force your ADC to do the same or die. That's really the best, safest thing you can do until you get your quest done.

Go mid, I left my friend bot in a 1v2 and he popped off so hard somehow

Nothing. You just stand behind minions focusing on your quest and praying for your ADC that he wouldn't forget about that nautilus in the bush or you just wait for a miracle to happen that the ADC after 50 pings of his trinket is gonna put a ward in there.

You just change your playstyle to defense you cant be offense most of the time when you have no vision.

Anyway against Nautilus depends what the player is like. If he is just waiting in the bush to hook you then stand behind minions and you are gonna be ok. If he is smart and aggressive and knows his limits - means he can just go around you behind your back and then go all in. You have to be under the turret till you get stronger cuz he can't dive you at this state - considering they are not overfed yet.

Also If you are the second pick then just take something like Taric, Leona even Brand If you land skill shots properly. I had never a problem with these against him - he just can't bully you.

Say please ward so we can avoid hooks.

Stay in an overly safe position and ping warnings in the bush until the adc gets it.

Start farming minions. When he says to stop tell him you need to buy more control wards since he won’t ward.

Yeah, I pretty much did that. Ashe is 2/7/1, rip this game lol. Thanks

You assume hes always in the bush and only move up behind minions.

Or you go elsewhere and let the adc live with their lane.

Ask, and gently ping their wards in the tab menu.

Khâmul2 votes

easy, main brand and become the carry. The adc is only a bait so they can use every cc on him . you won't need to buy wards anymore , your adc will become one

To be fair 90% of the games I had is when adc has the lowest ward score

Cry, and wait for the inevitable 4 man gank with rift herald.

Seriously though, there's nothing you can do except be hyper safe and ask them to ward. Pinging in my experience does nothing because ADCs don't listen to pings.

You need to sit under tower and ask them, "hey can you ward that bush please?" Letting them die to it isn't a good idea, because hook champions like Thresh and Pyke are so overloaded that they will dive you next and the game will spiral out of control and consume the whole match before your jungler remembers there's a bot lane in this game.

It seems logical to ward, but in my experience a lot of ADCs probably couldn't walk and chew gum at the same time to save their lives, so remind them.

I haven't encountered many ADCs who don't ward since I've inched closer to Plat, but they still don't understand he importance of clearing control wards early. You can get ganked from tri bush 8 times in a row, and they still won't help you clear it.

ping the bush that's getting abused with enemy missing pings, danger mark pings, and press tab and left click on your trinket to indicate it's on cooldown.

while you wait for them to learn you can just play back; support isn't required to move forward to last hit, and at a minimal level all you have to do is just be there to soak minion death exp to become "relevant".

Or you could do what every else on this thread is recommending, and be the toxic, unhelpful, person that refuses to teach and help players and attempt to sabotage/get your partner killed, so nothing is learned. Which will cause the problem to continue on in future games, eventually circling back and making you run into the exact same issue in a future games of yours.

Spam ping their trinket every time your ping is available

Lauchmelder2 votes

Do it more subtle and a bit more passive aggressive. Ping your own trinket when it's on CD and ping it again every time your ADC dies to some hook out of an unwarded bush.

Here is what I do. I first ping that enemy warded bush and write :don't get near or you will be hooked and well if as suspected that adc has muted the chat. I usually purchase 2 control wards and yes i put it right there in the bush so that my adc CAN see that enemy supp is in the bush killing the ward. Also I usually ping if my adc got a little closer to enemy range. I pull back towards my turret and instinctively the adc will fear to stand alone near the bush, so they will pull back a little. If by far ALL of that failed. I mute all emotes, notification and chat and let nature teach the lesson because sometimes, you have done all you can do.

find a better adc

It depends on the situation, playing safe and not overextending are the key for survival. If you are playing Brand with Spellthief, then just poke them as much as you could, but besides that's it. You can roam if your ADC is failing a lot to get the quest complete. This is the reason why I really hated Riot when they decreased the amount of control wards you can carry from 3 to 2.

But in defense of ADCs (I play both ADC and Support a lot), this phenomenon is much more frustrating vice versa, because you most likely won't have any item for warding.

Botlane is mostly for premades (I keep telling this to everyone, but regardless I still go SoloQ), so your other option is to find a decent ADC you can play regurarly with.

First 10 minutes of the game is cluster fk time in most games

Rule of thumb, IMHO: It's better to spend gold on wards even though your spellthief isn't completed than having no vision that will cause your death and the ADC's.

You mean control wards that the enemy support can kill immediately after I put them in the bush because they're in the bush with it? Thanks mate
