Normals are still shit to play in if you're below gold

Just decided to try out normals a few times again and it's the same as last month. A few people placed above platinum that are the only real factors in the game. Diamond 3, Platinum 4, Platinum 5. All in the last 3 games of normals I played, all of them were the primary factor in their teams victory.

League has been in this vicious cycle where riot allows players from any skill level to queue up with each other in normals(which is fine in its own right) but then puts them vs people who are just trying to play matches with people their elo.

  1. So then a player, someone like me, may decides they have had enough of being paired against players they had no business facing off against, they move into ranked. And if that person isn't playing competitively then it lowers the quality of ranked games. Lower quality games and team mates with conflicting goals increases toxicity and a harsher gaming environment because competitive players hate it when casual players play ranked.
  2. If the player, someone like me, decides not to play ranked then they might also choose to join this system of duoing with players of much higher skill than them to try and skew the advantage in their favor. Thus, increasing the number of high skilled player playing versus low skilled players and increasing the number of games where it is high elo vs low elo.

In either scenario, more bad matches are being made because there are less low elo solo queue players in normals to fill the mmr gap so that people can just play the game.

Downsides of the current matchmaking system: a) More casual player in ranked increasing toxicity in ranked queue b) More lobbies where who wins or loses is determined by how much the high elo players want to win. c) Newer players saying they don't want to play league because of the increase in toxicity overall and having to play vs veteran players.

Solution: Make it so that players who are duo queueing with higher elo players are put against other people with similar premades. If little bronze 5 Jimmy and his friend Danny diamond want to duo queue then it's fine, but don't make me play against Danny diamond because you guys don't know where to stick him.

Premades of silvers play against other premades of silvers. Premades of bronze/silver and diamond play against other premades of bronze/silver and diamond.

If the queue times increase for them or me.... fine. I'd rather spend 10 minutes in queue to wait for a quality game than save 2 minutes to get my ass pounded for 30.

Normal MMR is independent from ranked MMR.

Ohhhh righhhht.

So then I shouldn't be placed against people with a normals mmr of over 300 points above me? Which is over a full division?

But it still happens. I'm checking normals mmr and it's still significantly higher.

There is no way to access normal MMR (or any MMR).

op.gg na.whatismymmr.com lol-mmr.com

All of which gave my similar results on my ranked and normals mmr. Not saying it's 100% accurate but to say there's no way to roughly know what your mmr is is wrong,

Q would more be 30 mins for high Elo players. Normals is suppose to be quick to get in and just played without to much seriousness. Don't punish higher Elo because they are higher

Ive never seen this as a problem. When I end up against diamonds (happens occasionally when 2 silver mmr players que together) I just play how i always play (My hardest because normals arent an excuse to fuck around)

I dont play ranked and have a silver MMR. I only play normals and have only played normals since S2. Never had a problem with them.
