I understand elo hell might be a thing
But don't fucking complain about it when you were the one that was caught out every fight because it's players like you who are the cause of "elo hell"

I think dynamic queue had a ripple effect this season because people were literally boosted last season and aren't where they belong, which leads to dumb stuff like an eve pick in silver elo vs a high cc team

Or an eve pick in general bc everyone who plays her in low elo feeds and doesn't communicate
you know you can just edit your comment
Wtf eve picks are amazing in low elo, everyone fights nonstop and you can literally get fed by walking into any lane.

not when they cant play eve which is usually what happens, not gonna lie even i cant play her that well, i dont do too bad but i dont do too well either
Neither can I but people in low elo don't know what to do vs it
Pretty much

I have seen a lot of ex plat players mid high silver or like gold 5 mmr. Not crazy but like... pretty obvious they were never plat. Especially the 2 recent players I played with on my team that were plat 2 last season..... No way you were plat 2 in season 6 and now can't get out of gold 5 (or demoted to silver as one did) with hundreds of games played if you were really high plat the prior season....
Btw... both those ex "plat 2" players were both bronze the previous season before...... strange huh? I reported them... I know nothing will happen but they obviously were boosted and that's what I explained in both reports.
Elo hell is a thing, but it is a different elo for everyone. It is just the elo that you are not good enough to climb out of
THANK YOU!
I completely agree with this definition of Elo Hell. People who are like, "Elo Hell is only in Bronze/Silver/Gold" are just saying that because those are the divisions they have problems with.
Most high elo people talk about how Diamond 4-5 ish area is just a pain to play cause people are so happy to be in Diamond that they don't think they need to learn any more.
I came to this definition because those division are easy for me to climb out of but not my friends, but I get stuck at high plat while other friends can get past. Made it clear that there is no one elo hell
+1
Not necessarily true or false. An older account will have much harder time climbing regardless of skill than a brand new account. I believe and know completely that older accounts can for sure get stuck in "ELO hell" which is random ELO that they can't climb out of, but it's not necessarily the ELO they should be in. For example, I make an account, I get to high platinum in 3 weeks (under 100 games), my older account 4 years to be exact, is still barely gold because I cannot climb in 400 games.
It's the rough spot around Gold V that I find the worst. I get qued with past season Bronze to Plat Players.
Most games there's always one person 0-9 by the end of getting laned against someone two Tiers higher. It's basically Russian Roulette to see who gets the more balanced team.
Just got back into gold, and i forgot how toxic the players in gold are, they all think their gods that should be master, and none of them make mistakes ever xD
That's more plat elo, all of my plat friends I play normals with troll and are really toxic, then rage quit because "solo carrying is impossible in this meta"
I know most people would say b5 is elo hell. Mean while im sitting here playing with mostly golds in my ranked games all the while missing playing in b5. anyone could what they wants/ play what they wanted. half the time the other team wouldn't even send people to deal the the illaoi at their inhib and nexus towers. Fun times were made in b5

I think the only people who have solid reasoning to complain about ELO Hell are those being clamped to the point where victories give them +5 LP and losses cause -15 LP. They are relatively rare, but they do exist. To make matters worse, Plat 1 -> Diamond 5 have some extremely toxic players and contain most players being clamped.
That being said, I think ELO Hell is most often a temporary mental state where one is unluckily faced with games beyond their control. Aside from the players that do make excessive mistakes and behave in toxic manners, there are many who play relatively well and just get the sad end of the stick for multiple games in a row.
I was there earlier. Losses were -22 to -25 LP and wins were +14 to +18.
I had a small loss streak and lost two divisions. I just barely got back to where i was a couple days ago. The climb continues.
That sucks dude, sorry to hear it. I've had multiple Plat friends go through it. I really wish they'd enforce a min/max for LP losses/gains in those situations, like you'd lose/gain +/- 15 per win/loss. Even if it is rather rare, it can still ruin the experience for anyone involved.
For support mains elo hell can be very very real like if your supposed to be a gold 3 player you can get stuck around silver 1-2
I'm a support main and I've never gotten stuck. Elo hell isn't role specific. It has more to do with luck and a player's attitude towards the game.
Team no follow
Yesterday, had a plat 5 pick first or second time singed against Riven top... guess how well that went
Elo Hell does not exist. If it did exist, then why is it I can just pay someone to boost my account?
Elo Hell is a thing when know you can do better but either don't have the time/patience to climb, or don't play carry roles. Me, I'm guilty of both. Utility supports don't amount to much when your marksman has 29 CS at 8:40. No rotations, no wards, no last hits. #feelsbadman
Elo Hell doesn't exist. It's an excuse for players to justify not learning how to get better.
It's funny. I have friends all the time that complain about their team being bad. Then they say, "You're just lucky enough to make it to plat because you keep getting good teammates. I do NOTHING differently from you and I can't carry my boosted a** team". Then you look at their match history and notice that they're highly inconsistent and don't realize that consistency in a certain elo determines whether you climb or not. It's not about carrying your team EVERY game, but it's about you performing consistently well every game to not become a liability for you team.
Nobody wins 100% of their games. Challenger players can't even win 100% of games from Bronze - Gold (unless they duo with another challenger).
You have any advice for carrying? I think my biggest issue is translating early game advantages into mid game power. I main top/adc so after winning lane I trying and group with other lanes and shove into turrets. It almost always works until we get to the first or second inhibitor when I feel like my team starts to team fight without me when I'm buying items or split pushing, or they get caught our in the side lanes/jungle when we should be team pushing.
Most people say to work on splitpush timings and I get that you can always improve with them, but the point is mainly that even if it IS a good time to split my team will ruin it by fighting 4v5 when there's no need.

It can be insanely difficult to carry when you don't have a team that's willing to be carried. It's important to remember a few things:
*If you're splitting and your team is wiped out, the best thing to do is to keep splitting. Don't base because even if you do base, there's nothing you can do.
*You don't have to win your lane to start grouping, however, you should only group if your team is even or ahead collectively to their respective laners. If you get insanely fed, but your team is feeding immensely, it's important to try and keep enough pressure in a single lane to allow your team free farm to catch up. If you're at a point where you can 2v1, it's much better to keep pressure in side lanes and consistently getting picks through proper ward management rather than grouping.
*Avoid throwing leads by allowing your laner to catch up. The worse thing you can do is group for an extended period of time allowing your laner to catch up. Basically, if your laner is 0/5 or the sorts, collaborate the best you can with your jungler to punish that and take everything. And I mean everything. You start with the inhibitor in whichever lane is feeding on the enemy team. Even if you're adc/support/mid/top doesn't matter. Find whichever lane is significantly behind, and group there. If you are the jungler, then collaborate with your lane that is significantly ahead. Keep diving that laner and if you can get rift herald, you guys can end the game before 20minutes through the sheer pressure.
*Group when everyone wins lane. Try to get your team to group as 5 if you all won your lanes. Rotate, rotate, rotate. Stick together, take all neutrals (enemy jg etc), get deep, offensive wards, pick people off during rotations and keep the momentum going. Needless to say, after every successful rotation (top tower, mid tower, bot tower, camps taken) reset, spend gold on items and get back to it. Never overstay and never over chase for kills. You want kills for your end goal: The objective. If they have to base, leave them and take what you came for.

This is great advice, thank you for answering his query. This more than makes up for the reasons why we lose even while i'm ahead as a top lane carry, that managed to over power lane opponent. It never really made sense to me, until i read what you wrote. Thank you for sharing!
