A serious plea for deaf ears.

Riot pls. Turn league back into a game. Stop trying to sneak in little cash-grabs. Stop trying to maximize the little "events" that are simply designed to trick people into feeling like they have a reason to log on more while minmaxing the amount you actually give them compared to what they need to spend to get the most out of the "event". Stop lootboxing the entire game. Stop balancing the game around shallow flashy lights and big plays, and focus more on making it actually fun, fair, and balanced.

League isn't likely to die soon because of it... But it will deteriorate. Sure, you'll continue to make your money off new players and casuals, but your long-term players will not stick around if you keep alienating your playerbase.

So please, Riot. Stop throwing away your pride as game designers in exchange for profit.

Thank you for actually being serious. I was expecting this to be one of the few dozen "fuck rito fucking shit cashgrab bullshit shit fuck" threads, but kudos to you for saying things...nicely. Bluntly, but respectfully.

I can see how the new system to earn champions seems like a way to make money like a lootbox system. If you start a new account you will earn more Blue Essence now than you would have before the update earning ip. Overall Riot has been working to make the game easier for new players to get into, hence why they changed the xp required to get to 30 back in 2016. Also new players don't have to worry about spending ip on runes instead on champions now like before. The hextech boxes are a way you can earn free skins, before the hextech crafting the only time was for good sportsmanship at the end of the year. I can see where you're coming from, however I don't believe Riot is out for a cash grab.
