@Meddler, Why nerf Twitch rather than buff his lane bullies back to where they should be?

the weeaboo··1 votes·652 views

Twitch nerfs that didn't even go on the PBE, instead of buffing Lucian who has a 45% win rate at the moment. Those Twitch nerfs aren't going to hurt Twitchs laning, where he's currently strong. Health Pots counter the poison at early levels and Twitch won't get hurt that much by one less cask worth of mana. However the red buff nerfs combined with the cask cost is going to be harsh on his jungle clears.

Can we Twitchplayers get some explanation as to why this is?

When 1 champion is the problem you don't buff 5 others to compensate creating a worse situation for other classes.

No. Twitch isn't the problem. They've nerfed him almost 3 patches in a row but he's grown COMPARITIVELY stronger because the other ADCs aren't doing well without on-hit fervor and armor pen.

Even a challenger player (Imaqtpie) admitted that it was a weird decision on Riots part.

10%+ pick rate. 56%+ win rate.

Yeah, no. Twitch needs nerfs. Much larger ones than he's already getting, even.

RekSai low guttural growl (you think that is bad)

you really shouldn't cite someone like QT (despite me loving the boosted bonobo) for balancing. He tends to be quite extravagent and a crowd-pleaser

besides, the entire adc class is a pretty big mess right now. We shouldn't be buffing them, especially to compensate for a single outlier

my point still remains that these aren't hurt ADC twitch they're hurting jungle twitch which is not the problem.

I think I said this in another comment chain here but:

Jungle Twitch wasn't meant to be a thing and it isn't a considered factor when he's nerfed/buffed. His nerfs do effect his lane presence to a degree, and it's pretty obvious that Riot is doing the bit-by-bit nerf so that he isn't over-nerfed in one patch. They might already be planning to buff lane bully adcs in the future too, it's all about finding that common ground and not rushing things. As people have said, the adc class in general is quite the mess right now and I imagine that Riot is taking balancing slowly to try to figure it out

Adc's low winrate and high winrate is somewhat irrelevant as to how strong they are in general. Because in lane, ADC's are ALWAYS faced with other ADC's. That means that if we nerf high winrate ADC's, low winrate ADC's will automatically have a higher winrate, and vice-versa.

Metrics to measure how strong the adc's are would be : Is winning botlane basically winning game? Are ADC's starting to also appear in other lanes and do well? Are ADC's dealing more damage than other carries? (mages/assassins)

He's not meant for the jungle, friendo.

I'm a Twitch main, I think I would know :/

Slythion1 votes

uh, you being a Twitch main isn't relevant in the slightest lol. We're talking about what he was meant to be (an adc), not his actual numbers. Twitch was never meant to be a jungler and therefor Riot won't be balancing him around the jungle

Xavanic1 votes

True, but in high elo he is a recognized jungler due to his insanely safe clear and amazing gank potential, like when he just shows up in your lane and starts shooting you with his aas and throws down that cask you either have to flash or die

Slythion1 votes

Yes, he's certainly a pretty strong jungler (I wouldn't say he has safe clears though...he requires some pretty advanced practice in camp kiting) but that doesn't mean Riot wants him to be a jungler. Nor should they honestly, Twitch jungle is pretty much a better Shaco for the early ganks which is quite cancer to deal with xD

but anyways, ya. Riot doesn't want/care about Twitch jungle and so they won't consider that role for him while they hand out buffs/nerfs. To bring in the "but Twitch is gonna be unplayable in the jungle" argument to protest nerfs that target his adc position simply isn't a relevant argument.

Xavanic1 votes

Yeah, hes one of the 3 good marksman junglers, imo they should put more thought into it, also his clear is actually very safe compared to others, all you gotta do is basic kiting, and venom cask made that alot easier with his changes, but yeah they wont look at jungle twitch when its honestly the stronger way to go as you dont have to worry about being bullied in lane by a draven, jhin or vayne

Big Lincoln1 votes

because twitch is overpowered anyway

Lucian needs a buff for sure but he's the only actual outlier here

Xavanic1 votes

Lucian doesn't need any major changes right now, he had his time in the spotlight as top tier for nearly an entire season, now that armor pen is gone we can see some other adcs take the spotlight for a bit until Lucian becomes dominant once again due to his overloaded kit

Big Lincoln1 votes

"he had his time in the spotlight" is some dog shit reasoning tbh

every champion should be allowed to compete at the same time. don't force metas

Xavanic1 votes

While i like to believe that, he was dominant for an ENTIRE fucking season, he deserves to be weak for a while, besides he will become god tier again soon anyways, he always fucking does solely because his kit is overloaded

WoonStruck1 votes

Because ADCs in general are already a problem. So are many junglers. So are many mages.

Honestly a lot of things need nerfs right now, or the game's just going to continue power-creeping.
