This matchmaking system makes no sense.

For those of you who don't know how it works, the current system matches you with people who have been doing terribly in ranked if you've been doing well. For example, let's say the average MMR for Bronze 1 is 1200. Player A is bronze 1 but has an mmr of 1400. To "balance" the team out, it'll match you with people who are on 1000 mms, so that the team average mmr remains 1200.

You know what would be a better matchmaking system? If it matched you with OTHER people that are on 1400 MMR. This way you get matched with people that are on the same skill level as you.

Will it make the game more unbalanced? Nope. So then why has riot still not figured it out? Why are they so eager on sticking to a matchmaking system that punishes you for being good?

There is no proof but we do know Riot matches people based on MMR and there are sites that list your approximate MMR. Riot would never release their matchmaking algorithm because they know we would rip it a new asshole.

Ye, but those are all speculations. Lets focus on OP

He is Bronze 1 with 33% winrate (probably dropping even lower soon). Best spree he had lately was 3 wins in a row. After that he lost game where he had 8:8 and he was lowest rank in his team. If you check his teammates there are no clues of "people who are doing bad" "trolls" or anything like that. Next game OP ended 4:15, he was worst in his team and his entire team is around same rank/mmr. Then last game he ended 2:6, again with nothing weird in his/enemy team.

Simply by analyzing OPs match history, you can see that his post is BS. He is just not down to his deserved rank yet so he loses a lot more than he wins. Once he reaches b4 or b5 where he belongs he should stabilize his winrate.

Leaving op alone. A matchmaking algorithm that woudl depend on only one ladder would be better for everyone (either rank or MMR) as it current state, whenever you are climbing you have weird matchmaking that you have to play and lose until it balance itself out. climbing my way to gold, several times I had to go against plats when I was high silver, I don't mind these games as much since it will give me considerable LP (28ish) and it was a round my level so i could manage, but I find it highly logical I had to demonstrate plat level to reach gold, the culprit, my MMR that was gold 3 ish MMR; only way I could fix it, either lose 3 or 4 games until it balance itself out (with 15 LP lose it wasn't much of a deal) or, duo with someone with bad MMR so it will balance itself out around the level I should have been playing at that ranking.
