It's 2019, Viktor should be able to have a visual indicator for his W stacks

For those who don't know, Viktor 's W (gravity field) stun isn't directly linked to a duration > stun mechanic. Instead, it's duration > stacks > stun. Every 0.5s an enemy stays in the gravitational pull, it gains a stack of a temporary debuff and, once it gets to 3, the stun procs.

My concern is that, even though this ability works on stacks, nothing but the debuff actually shows that it works like this. Since there's an extreme ambiguity in certain situations if the ability will or will not stun, adding a visual indicator similar to some other existing stacking abilities (Vi's passive, Braum's passive, Ekko's passive, Kindred's E, Darius' passive, Tristana's E, and many many more) would not only be one of the best possible QoL change, but would ACTUALLY give a reason to this ability to work with 3 stacks.

It's not like it would be complicated either: the stacks already exist, we just need a visual indicator and here we go; more clarity.

No jokes, I played the shit out of him for a while, he is my favourite AP midlaner by far and it took me SO LONG to realise that it was STACKS and not duration. Honestly, at this point they could get rid of the stacks because there is no way to make these stacks happen other than just "standing" inside. Other champions have to use their AAs to apply stacks (Kindred, Darius for example), his stacks are just tied to the duration. It's cool when someone walks out and then back in but that happens so rarely, even in teamfights.

I think they really wanted it to be based on a "time in area" instead of a stack, but whoever coded it was just like, "nah, we have 3 stack passives everywhere.... ctrl-c ..... ctrl-v"

I think it would be hard to notice since his W makes a big bubble

It would create a lot of visual noise too, and would be hard to appreciate in the chaos.

While I like the idea in theory, I don't think it would actually change how I would play Viktor.

I can't add stacks in any other way, and the stacks don't have any other interaction than the stun. I also can't make them stay in the circle or come back to the circle other than positioning, which is already done.

I would play Viktor exactly the same now, and being able to see how close my stun was to working before it actually worked (or before failing) would probably just add more frustration without any benefit.
