stealth patch change to mecurial scimitar?

Earlier, if you activated Mecurial's ability during malz ult, it would cancel the spell. Now it only cancels the cc, and the damage component continues to occure [does this end if you move out of range?]

When was this change done? Because I usually read the patch notes very carefully, and I don't remember reading about this.

Are there any other changes I might have missed?

That damage has been part of it for a loooong while now, to the point I can't even remember a point where it didn't - you'd have to check the wiki

It's been that way for quite some time. QSS/Mercurial Scimitar are still hard counters to Malz, just not complete shutdown items.

After you cancel the suppression effect, you have to move out of range of Malz's ult in order to cancel the damage-over-time effect.

It has been the same since the release of QSS and release of Malz.

The other possible explanation was that the Malz, upon seeing you QSS, cancelled his own ult for whatever reason.

What?! You mean it's always been like this??! I've just been lucky to catch malz ults at the edge of his range, so when I use Mecurial and move, it immediately breaks and I think it's the item effect stopping the damage. . . I've never built mercurial in lane against him to really have studied this. All this time, I've just been lucking out :o
