Can riot do something about Ahri's Foxfire?

I mean the name is cool, but using it isn't. Foxfire is a very boring skill to use. Luckily it is auto targeted meaning it has to be weak as well. So the people who play Ahri hate it because its boring and weak and the people who play against Ahri hate it because there's nothing they can do about it. Then the LCS hates it because it's boring and is never an obvious factor of big plays.

This is a pretty lose-lose skill if you ask me.

Is there anything that can be done to make the skill more interesting but less auto-targeted?

I absolutely despise the skill and it annoys me that it exists only because her designer decided to force a 3's and 9's thematic onto her kit. I wasn't even remotely surprised when they said thematic came first when it came to designing her, it explains why Riot kept changing whether or not they wanted her to have a lot of damage.

they could make it go onto anyone she aa like it it used to at one point and jsut remove the stupid auto-target, make it like nami aa buff but only slefcast.

It's not that weak, it's a good portion of her burst. They reduced the range after at a certain point a while back. Her kit is already really strong, adding more utility or damage (skill shot usually has higher damage output due to skill reward variance) isn't viable without pushing her back into pick/ban.
