Should there be any mechanic that lets you speed up an ally's cooldowns?

Soul Shroud

Soul Shroud, an old item that has long since been removed, was the only item ever made that let players boost an ally's CDR. No one ever got it because it was a crap item for its cost, and Riot felt CDR was something a player should spec for themselves, not rely on an ally for. Also, Riot hates auras, so there's that.

But does that mean there can't be any mechanics that reduce an ally's cooldowns? I sincerely hope not.

No, because LeBlanc might be extremely broken if it resets the cooldown on her passive on enemies. She already one shots with her E.

That's not what I mean. I mean cooldowns for your abilities.

Give them CDR, or reduce their cooldowns? Big difference. CDR gets capped at up to 45% with masteries, idaf if they put an item in the game that gives allies CDR because so many items have it now anyways, but if there was an item or skill that could actually reduce the cooldowns of abilities by a flat amount or percentage outside of CDR, that would be broken.

It would have to be the former, and could be something that lets an allied Champion briefly exceed the 45% cap.

I'm also thinking it'd have to be specific to a unique Support Champion.

Reduction of cooldowns as an active item is incredibly broken and would destroy balance at its root level.
