New Ryze. Either you go Mana or AP? And No more CDR!
I've read his passive and I gotta say... What's the point of going Mana now when you can go full AP and get Mana on the way? Mana is still efficient, but where's my CDR?

That's why the core items on him are
/
/
. You can basically build whatever you want after those items. But you're already going to have over 300 AP with those three items.
I've been wondering what the
on him will look like as they're another item to double down on the mana + ap... bonus for good actives.
I would say they'd bring extra damage during his bursting combo, but it just means you have to micromanage all of your abilities and an activate. Though the protobelt would help him in get in range to snare easier. It could be a surprise mechanic like with Flash, but I'd probably just build something else that provides resistances after the first 3 items.
Protobelt doesn't give Mana. It uses Kindlegem.
That said, I was wondering about the Frostgun. It seems to have decent stats for him and the slow would likely be useful for his kit.
However, I feel like if Ryze is building a Catalyst, he's going to be upgrading it into a Rod of Ages. Heck, just about anyone would probably go for Rod of Ages over the Iciclepistol.
In fact, it seems like the Freezeray might be better for a melee champion that wants some extra AP and a slow. Maybe someone like Amumu would want the Coldblaster.
Even then, Protobelt comes into play as a potentially stronger alternative. It pretty much becomes a choice between whether you want Cooldown, a dash, and a larger AoE by getting Protobelt, or mana, a slow, 20 more AP, and a heal/mana restore from the Snowshooter.
Not exactly related, but what kind of name is Hextech GLP-800? It's the only persistent/non-Viktor item I have to actively search for just to remember the name.
The core items will always be
/
.
helps as well if they're a ton of AP on their team. If not, you could go
for more defensive stats.
is still the standard ryze build.
Is the jungle ryze build. Cinerhulk ryze is extremely effective.
y tho
Why does Cinderhulk help him? Is it the AoE? His new E gives him some good AoE with E > E > Q

Until you get full build, you get 3000+HP, 5000mana, 40% CDR, and the increased HP is just more useful at all stages of the game than runic echo.
its simply the best jungle item for ryze, since theres no other decent one.
Not Cinderhulk. Go
for the movement speed.
