Well, there are champions that do what he does better without being confined into a niche. Like, xin zhao has equal sustain, but he's tankier with aa based cc and a on-click dash/slow and an aoe knockback ult. Another example is Irelia, good passive sustain, solid dps with trinity force/tank, a dash that can be reset on kills, on click slow/stun, and a long ranged sustain/damage ult. You could also do trundle, or olaf.

Bottom line is that unlike other fighters, Aatrox has to build damage to do damage, and vice versa. If you don't build damage, you don't do damage, but if you don't build tanky, you die as quickly as a squishy adc. Building hybrid ends up being low damage output on top of iffy survivability.

He's built as a hypercarry, but he can only effectively be a draintank.

P.S. He's also really easy to kite and has super telegraphed moves.

I don't mind if Aatrox would to be build tanky/damage. That's how Aatrox works ever since he came out. But now after his rework less and less he's being played. I would agree, Irelia/Xin are great champion, but that goes for Irelia that needs damage to do some. She can do true damage while Aatrox is just flat damage. And yes, if Aatrox were to go tanky, he would have barely any damage and if he were to go damage he would die to easily. Aatrox has to get close, which I strongly think that's makes him good. But it's also because he got reworked makes him harder to play. Kind of like how Ryze got reworked, even though his passive is just shit, he's still very strong in the meta.

What is this "Rework" your talking about. Aatrox never has had one. There was a time on PBE before his release his Ult was quite different... and to be honest way better than his current one.

I think it was his passive that reworked Aatrox just a little bit.

I feel it's mainly because hes just actually pretty weak. Why play Aatrox when XinZhao does everything Aatrox does better, more easier and more. The only thing that Aatrox has over Xin is the no mana and his revive passive which isn't always that strong.

Xin and Aatrox are two different champions. Xin can counter engage easily while Aatrox has to be the engager. Plus Xin can cc counter with his ultimate while Aatrox just increases his atk spd/auto attackin range. I would agree that Aatroxx is weak at the moment. Do you think he needs a buff? i surely agree he needs one.

He's not crazy popular. Plus, he's only been put in the free rotation once this whole season, so that might be part of it.

What's the real reason? I know he was great back in s3-s4. Now he's just okay. I know he got reworked, but I think that hurt'd him a lot ever since.

What's the reason why he's bad? You don't give reasons to why he's bad. i don't understand your logic towards your statement. Give a reason.
