I was just playing a game as Taric and was fighting Malphite when I couldn't combo at all. He lowered my attack speed from 2 to 1. Have I somehow missed this in my 5 years of playing or was the cripple recently added?

AlienPrimate1 votesIt's kind of hard to believe that I never noticed it a single time until my last game. I have played probably 3000 games and not once noticed that he has an attack speed slow. I honestly thought I was glitched because it looked like I was just standing still rather than attacking.

stack it with frozen heart and a cold steel armor item and you basically have 0.2 AS on any champ

TheSandQrator1 votesThere are (literally) just over a handful of crippling effects in the game, which Riot have kept to over the years since it often feels entirely surprising (e.g. This thread), but also that they affect duelists/rightclickers more than others.

Malphite's catches folks by surprise because it's not coupled with a movement speed slow (that's on a different ability for him), but also because you can't easily mouse over him to see his abilities do X, but you can with his items.
