The item the game needs
Awhile ago I proposed the Sword of Epic Badassery. I'll repost the stats here:
Sword of Epic Badassery Cost: 3400-3600 Recipe:
+
- 80 AD
- +20 armor penetration
- 10% CDR
- Unique Passive - EXPLOSIONS!!!: On hit your attacks do an additional 25 true damage. (graphically hits will show little explosions)
"It's a womans's best friend." - Riven
"My first choice for dunking foes." - Darius
"The crowds love explosions! The kid's faces just light up when I blow stuff up." - Draven
"It's a sword! Why do summoners keep expecting me to shoot this out of my bow?" - Ashe
So why do we need this item? Well in short we need it because of this
. Here's a big problem with ADC itemization: you've got very little item choices as an ADC. Most ADCs end up rushing the IE. Why's that? Well I've been talking to people in gold, plat, and diamond and one thing they all say is that an ADC needs to do damage. You have to rush the IE on most ADCs because it is the best damage item in the game (thanks to crits).
and
have their places but a lot of good people feel they aren't rush worthy.
Is a conditional buy. That sort of leaves IE as the best ADC item.
hi im gosu posted this image which sums up what's going on: http://i.imgur.com/kAodGGp.png
IE is the first big item most ADCs buy and it is recommended for all of them. To me that's an itemization issue that's easily fixable.
Now I'm not saying IE is bad, far from it, but what I am saying is it probably needs a good competitor. It needs something where people can step in and say, you know I might want to opt for this other item instead. It needs a competitor that isn't reliant on something as random as crit. It needs a healthy option people can pick and debate over.
That's were the the Sword of Epic Badassery would step in. It would give ADCs a viable alternative big damage item that isn't based on crit change. Now I love having chances and randomness in the game, but a lot of people complain about it. This item is designed to give them an average damage boost of close to what IE offers. It does that via armor pen and a small true damage passive (which is probably droppable, but it'd be a shame not to have a big item like that without some kind of passive effect). So it would be the steady alternative to IE's chancy damage.
