ganking when lanes are all losing

I really want to get a diamond-challenger opinion on this, because this is a recurring issue in gold and below.

All lanes are doing poorly, but you as the jungler are progressing relatively fine in the jungle. All lanes are pushing towards allied towers, and there's not really a good gank to make because your lanes are behind (you gank, it goes poorly, blame the jungler vs don't gank and then blame the jungler)

Should I as a jungler attempt to gank lanes that are behind or continue farming to a point where I can do what my character is designed to do very effectively (e.g. tank, assassinate, control, etc.)?

I get that I should help my team where possible, but if I'm not sure because nothing is warded/counter warded, is it still smart?

Gank or farm?

Depend on how far your lanes are behind. Some lane are salvageable whilst other are not. Look at items between each laner and yourself and see how the game is going and make your best judgement.

basically, I got flamed for not ganking a janna cait lane vs jhin alistar as rengar, my reason being is they aren't able to disengage fights properly and are getting rolled by alistar just having free access to the adc. Should I try to salvage that or no?

If you think your bot lane plays really badly then dont and just ignore them and look else where.

From my experience the game is pretty fucked if every lane loses

Depending on the context of which champion you use you'll have several options but really depends on which champion your jungling with

Ideally

You should only gank lanes in which you know you can kill and help your laner get ahead

Even if a gank isn't successful you can pressure the enemy laner by sitting in the bush to zone him cs /exp/gold

Use the F key to keep track of the map And enemy jungle momvements to pull off successful gank ,invades and counter ganks

hard to win if all lanes are losing. tbh. very rarely. the enemy team has to make mistakes. or their team comp is shit at team fights.

depends on how far behind they are and how it happened

if they are vegetables don't bother if its just bad luck and they are otherwise playing good try to salvage although sometimes a game is just lost

You can't sit back in jungle and power farm because you will inevitably get invaded and counterjungled because your laners can't help so you end up with half the camps to get xp/gold or even less so thats not a good idea.

If none of your laners is good enough to claw themselfes back into the game by whatever means neccesary but arent too far behind, like a few cs and 1-2 kills max, then try going for as many neutrals as possible when the opportunities arise Getting these oceans, wind drakes, fire & earths allows you to become more powerfull and gain stats without needing to be better then your opponent. your team will simply become more powerfull and it will make up for the gold defecit and come late you can surpass the enemy team statwise. Though not every jungler is good at taking neutrals

Its usually a 50/50 toss up if you can recover the game from this point, theres too many factors to consider between what swings it each way, most importantly I'd say are items, summoner spells available and kit interactions between the champions (some kits are inherently stronger than others). However, my main advice for you in this situation is: evaluate the team comps, your pick, and next time pick a better champion. What I mean by that is that, this season atleast, ALL elos have the problem of lanes losing faster than the jungler can react. The only way to really solve or prevent this issue is to pick a jungler that can effectively gank early and often without falling behind due to getting nothing out of a gank.

Of course this "gank often and effectively" champion doesnt have a specific name it depends on what kind of lanes you have to gank and what your laners are. Do they have an LB mid against your Malzahar mid? Its likely that heavy CC wont help you much to stop LB early (not until malz is lvl 6 and has atleast .5 - 1 item. Thus a better pick would be somebody who is front loaded with damage, Kha'zix if you are good with isolation positioning and timing, lee sin if you are good with him, or perhaps graves? otherwise you may consider choosing somebody with a lot of damage and a little bit of CC for example Xin or Evelynn. Either way, its usually a wrong champion choice i.e "losing in champ select" that leads to all 3 lanes losing and the enemy jungler out ganking you, in essence you need to stop the bleeding early because its probably going to happen.
