one for all champ pick undesirable, fine, harassment is not

If you get a champ you want to play and someone doesn't want to play that champ, if you harass them because they don't like that champ, you're an asshole

Conversely if you get a champ you don't like, and spam surrender the entire match, complaining about the champ, then you're the asshole again

asshole

^ The one person downvoting this thread, thinking him- or herself a very special snowflake (make that 2 people now).

Reason why I quickly stopped playing OFA - people only wanted the broken stuff, Fizz, Zed etc., and dodging if they didn't get it.

agreed.

Had someone pick Alistar for us (20%) the other day. We went against Fiddles. Most of us said "oh god we're fucked". First engagements went really badly. Alistar is melee. You run in, get silenced, feared, drained. It was horrible. We kept saying how much trouble we were in.

But nobody was nasty about it, and nobody gave up. We won. When you sign up for One For All matches, that's just the way the game is. You get weird matchups.

The only thing I never enjoyed about this game mode is being (usually) the only one who itemizes with resistances in mind.

Winning as Nidalee because I was a MR tank and kept bodyguard diving in front of spears and still being told I was useless for NOT feeding endless kills because my team couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn at point-blank range just had me questioning why people vote for champs they aren’t even the SLIGHTEST bit “okay” with....

Granted, this was a long time ago but it left a bitter taste in my mouth. Winning by going tank on a traditionally carry-exclusive champ is never fun.

I was a asshole ...

What to do to prevent it in the future ... :*(

I play ONE FOR ALL for the following reasons:;

  • I only buy skins via mystery skin boxes so I have no control over the skins I get, so Only in ONE FOR ALL I will be able to explore the skins and the champion ( I buy new champ as soon as i have enough BE)
  • A lot of champions I own but never played or I simply don't own, so ONE FOR ALL is a good opportunity to learn about the champion, so I ever have to play against it at least I know what it does
  • ONE FOR ALL also tests one person's knowledge about items, good opportunity to explore different builds for the match up ONLY
  • if one person is so good at the champion, I could live watch them and hopefully learn and see what they build that's useful.. etc...

However, there are always PEOPLE who only want to play 'OP' Champions but they dont know how to play... Or, some champions in their BRAIN is not OP but they simply just dont know how it works....

I guess unless you play Mastery YI..... everything else is unpredictable...

So many games are ruined by attitude and so many reports happen.....

Pretty much. Even though some of us don't want to play only current ops and actually want to play off-meta picks and just have fun for the sake of having fun, but nope. Everything has to revolve around the try hards and "guarenteed" wins because that's the only true way to have fun. Heaven forbid we play anything other than Zed, Yasuo, Quinn, MF, Lux or any of the other top rated champs. So many games have I lost because people give up without even trying or are salty because they didn't get they're pick so they don't want to play. One game my trio got paired with a duo. The duo wanted MF and we wanted Soraka. Soraka won. We were winning because the enemy couldn't do anything to us. We ultimately lost though because the duo started spamming ff at the earliest possible and wanted to just end because they were, as they put it, bored. I personally find it way more fun to play an unconventional pick that somehow works over a pick that everyone chooses. Heck, even if it doesn't work out it can still be fun. The fun isn't in what everyone else is doing, but rather in what you make of the situation.

Every game I'm trying to play Lucian to do AP pew pew but 2 guys from my team wanted Akali because she wasn't banned and guess what, one of them dodged saying that it was a troll pick... I don't understand people anymore...

One For All is one of those hit or miss gamemodes. That's why I only play it with people I know, as we can universally agree on a champion and not be stuck with people picking first time Rakan and going 0/7.

0DESTROYERZ08/9/2018, 2:12:53 PM1 votes

but while doing that, you are playing the champ to the best of your capabilities while also maybe doing better than a lot of your teammates, hmmm but no that cant be the case

SugeMinPikk8/9/2018, 2:50:19 PM1 votes

I get champs I don't like then I'm the only one who pops off

do get to flame them

The Öutcast8/9/2018, 2:50:46 PM1 votes

There are going to be weird picks in one for all. Honestly, I think it should be completely random after a ban phase, with no votes for any champs, because if some people are going to be unhappy with the pick, then they can direct their anger to the algorithm vs someone who might actually enjoy the champ.

Autrah Fang8/9/2018, 4:17:26 AM1 votes

I just had a game with a 3 man premade on my team, who all picked GP, I picked Ezreal, and the other random picked Pyke. We got Ezreal, and the moment we got into game 2 of the premade decided to flame in all chat to the enemy Pykes about how Ezreal was a troll pick and a useless champ. One of them went mid and the other 2 went bot. The bot laners started feeding hard, and by the time they were 0/6 each (at about 10:00) us top were 4/2 each. So, the mid laner, the brilliant ray of sunshine that he is, starts flaming us about how bad we are, even though we were doing the best on the team XD

Long story short the premade wanted to surrender at 15, we didn't, they flamed some more, and we ended up winning that game 10 minutes later, with the random and I on the top of the damage charts, and the premade getting carried. I'm just thinking the whole time, "Just because you wanted to cheese some randoms with your 3man vote priority, doesn't mean you get to flame everyone else when you're bad at the champ you didn't pick," lol

I forgot to report them after the game though. Oh well.

Sugar Momma8/9/2018, 3:38:08 PM1 votes

Just dodge.

ChaosThief8/9/2018, 3:46:27 PM1 votes

"Some champs deserve an instant ban", and "If we got insert champion they picked here got picked we would have won"

^Also assholes. I don't get why you're playing a fun mode if you're just going to complain if you don't get the "skillful always win" champ you want.

Draven Göd8/9/2018, 5:43:58 PM1 votes

if you're playing one for all do it with friends who want to play the same champ, if you're toxic and dumb then dodge the game if you dont get your champ. people are so dense.

Flemman8/9/2018, 6:24:40 PM1 votes

tbh, making one for all start at level 3 push the feeling of bad pick really hard (and shift the meta a bit)

When i play one for all, i prey for poeple to not take the like of zed/lb/rengar/..., those champ only dedicated player feel great about playing while there is a high chance at least 1 poeple on your team will not be able to do anything. That's not a fun experience imo for that one guys, only the main will feel good about it.

They are some pick that were godlike before, like ez, but with the level 3 start became not that good (can't snowball as hard the lane with level 1 poke, assassin and cc champ starting with 3 spell makes fragile champ extreme feast or famine)

One for all overall has trade some fun for faster game and, as they tied a mission to that mode (bringing in poeple who weren't necesseraly waiting for it to be back), being stuck with something only main can play or with no real power spike during the game can lead to more frustration than before.

Moons of Jupiter8/9/2018, 7:01:07 PM1 votes

This mode isn't even fun anymore.

TheSingularity8/9/2018, 2:42:30 AM1 votes

Agree with one exception, Ivern. Not endorsing harassment, however when a champion designed for one role is selected complaining should be expected. The only person having fun will be the one who picked the champ (as they likely took smite) while the rest suffer with a useless passive and weak laning.
