Anyone felling this as a poke\ counter burst support? If he gets fed he can carry and if he is not his mana is low. With the passive he slows enemy. I put Wits End or Nash tooth and see how he does. Could it work?

Durzaka1 votesPretty much anyone with CC or high kill potential can be put as a support bot lane and work.
The real thing that defines a good support is 2 fold:
1.) How well they function with very low gold income (Ekko fails very hard here). 2.) How well they can defend their ADC from getting attacked (Again, Ekko fails hard here).
Number 1, he just needs way too much gold in items to be able to either assassinate someone, or survive long in the late game.
Number 2, his only way to defend his ADC in a truly fucked up situation is his W, which has a ridiculous set up time that it just isnt reliable enough.
Will it work sometimes? Sure, why not. Will it be a smart choice? Absolutely not.
Also as mentioned, Nashor's is a pretty bad item on him overall since his passive applies with skills as well as AAs. Lich Bane or Luden's is a better damage item for him.

But his E procs LB as well as Luden's, making it very easy to use. Especially if you land a double hit Q, E in for the passive proc and LB proc for massive damage.
Provengreil1 voteshas anyone actually watched the delay on his stun? it would fail incredibly hard against most bot lanes. he throws it, and during the windup you know he'll be angling to get himself and you in the area. So it simultaneously gives you an area not to be in, and tells you where he's likely to put himself. ADC steps back, blitz knows to throw a hook soon, and his best way out just went on cooldown. With Janna's passive no one will be in the area. Leona jumps forward for a zenith blade, locking him down outside the area till it passes and auto winning the trade from there. Sivir shields, and he'd have to contend with a morgana black shield even a cat could time. Zyra snares, a Bard could line up a snare here. Virtually any support has a way of countering this, most with CC, and a CCed assassin is dead.
Using Q to poke seems to use a lot of mana for a little reward, when compared to morgana, sona, brand, zyra, or even less popular/meta supports like kayle, teemo. Heck, ANIVIA would do better as support and she can't do it at all*.
the only way it could work is early zone denial to lead into a perfectly done deep freeze, and if that gambit fails you're probably just SOL.
*Yes, yes, I know she's listed as one, high base damages, decent CC, that wall, etc. I love the bird, play her mid a lot recently. But the mana costs just don't mesh with a support's needs since the regen nerf: a recent game I built ROA, Seraphs, Athenes AND morellos and wasn't trolling about it.
Occams Raiser1 votesAniva works well as long as you have a burst champ. she doesn't do well poke. There must be a reason for how slow is stun comes out. The radius looks massive. And what can you see if he does it from the bushes? With a lot of the nerfs some of the mages are going bot lane. I have seen him played in 3 lanes so far.
all of these are great items that supporting brings to gain needed gold for other bigger items.
