Right now i'm actually done with Riot Balance Team

We have twitch rampaging the rift since half a year rocking a 55-60% winrate from diamond-master. He has a high pick and banrate and matters got even worse after caitlyn got nerfed into the ground. So far no nerfs nor did anyone from rito ever mention that he MIGHT be a small problem. According to certain boards members "balance isn't simple" so twitch is okay with getting away because who could possibly know what the problem with twitch is. Stealth? 1k range? AS/AD steroids? Hitting entire teams and healing off of them? All combined? Who knows it's not simple. It's propably just ardents Kappa.

Then we come to the recent PBE changes and RIOT AXES explanation behind it. Jarvan gets nerfed. Okay. What is being nerfed? His shield. Okay. Now we have RIOT AXES: "Jarvan isn't powerful for just one thing - it's how much damage while how tanky. We don't want to see his kill threat go down, particularly not while the meta's still jungle tanks, so we're tapping down the other side of the equation instead. This should still be a net buff as long as he's putting gold into defensive items, relative to before we touched him in patch 7.7."

Let me get this straight: A diver/bruiser does what he is supposed to do: be tanky and also a damage threat and that is not okay and gets nerfed. HM. Is Jarvan currently popular? Yes. In both proplay and SoloQ. Is he overbearing or toxic to play against? Is his winrate out of control? I'd say no to both. Neither in laningphase nor afterwards does he feel like having no counterplay and being unkillable while oneshotting everyone. In fact i'd call him one of the more healthy bruisers on both sides of tankyness and damage, as well as having decent counterplay. MAYBE i'm just biased as a toplaner finally having a viable bruiser to play.

And before i get lost in my thoughts i wanna talk about RIOT AXES quote: We know this is worlds patch so i'm gonna say a few things beforehand. I doubt if that nerf would kill jarvan he ever would get buffed back afterwards, lee hasn't been nerfed after they buffed him for worlds last year nor riven for example so that's one thing that bothers me every time we get to worlds but that's not the point and the nerfs won't kill j4 i just wanted to share that. They want him to deal less damage when he is so tanky so instead of nerfing his damage they take his tankyness so that he is forced to build tanky and not damage. What will this lead to? Why even picking jarvan when maokai for example deals the same damage while building full tank and having more sustain, more CC and more tankyness. So why even pick jarvan? Or you build him damage and he gets blown up by absolutely balanced marksmen in three rightclicks. The part of "deals too much damage for how tanky" can basically be applied to half the tank roster but somehow that's not a problem for riot.
Sorry but i find that statement incredibly biased and not sufficient enough to explain this nerf. It's once again riots vengeance against bruisers and nothing else.

Neither rito nor the viewership wants boring tank farmfests top and yet they nerf one of the few exciting to watch bruisers in the game. A jarvan fiora or kled Jarvan fight toplane would be pretty fun to watch. Instead we get maokai fiora who will just farm 20 minutes until fiora towerdives him 1v1 at full health and twitch chat be like POGCHAMP.

And what bothers me the most is how simple balance can be when a bruiser gets popular in both pro play and pleb play and gets IMMEDIATELY nerfed after a month of popularity and we just let draven (who got a lovetap) and twitch completely untouched for half a year for whatever reason. Apparently it is not a problem for twitch to three shot entire teams from 1k range safety. Twitch is also popular in pro and pleb play while being A MAJOR issue in SoloQ. And i'm not advocating for twitch nerfs because of soloQ alone. I'm pretty sure twitch will crowd out a lof picks in proplay as well. Why pick jinx when Twitch does the same just BETTER and safer? Same with kog, same with draven same with sivir (she atleast got her ult as utility pick).

TL;DR: Conclusion: I don't think this buff/nerf or BURF is unjustified or too harsh in anyway. I only find THE REASONING behind it unjustified and very biased against bruisers as we've seen it often enough in the past. Especially considering that we have ACTUAL problems impacting both pro and even more soloQ play FOR MONTHS and nothing is done but the moment a viable bruiser arises the nerf hammer is ready to smack'em down.

I'd also like to ask you to not blindly upvote/downvote anything. I want a serious and well mannered discussion so please behave like that. I'd also like to apologize that england is not my city and if something is hard to understand what i mean i'm gladly explaining it below.

Now, FIGHT TO DEATH... i mean DISCUSS!.

Jarvan nerf is hella random, in solo q I barely even see him ever, meanwhile entire adc roster got cut down to tristana, twitch, vayne.
