This has been going on for a while now and it needs to stop :/
Ranked, fine. You ban who you want, because you're playing to win. That's absolutely fine and dandy.
My question is this though.... when a new champion comes out, why on earth do people ban them.... in normals?
The normal excuse I hear is. "I don't want to play with a bad (champ name here)"
.....this is absolutely the dumbest thing I can ever imagine. So, tell me. If everyone bans the new champion in normals, because they don't want to have a bad player of that champion.... then how the hell are they supposed to be not bad anymore?
Seriously. It makes 0 sense. Like I said, In a ranked match that makes a lot more sense. You want to play to win, and you probably won't win if you're playing with a dude who's deciding to play Taliyah jungle and just first played Taliyah. But in a normals? The mode where you go to specifically play against real players in a PVP environment, so you can practice a new champion?
So if we're playing a normals and you see I highlighted Zed and I say, "First time Zed, I want to practice him." Would you ban that? Cause if you do, you're a douche.
And for the people that say, "Play against bots." That's the worst possible way to learn a new champion. And 'playing against bots' may be the reason why so many think that going Rageblade on Garen is super OP. Bots are not an accurate way to judge someone's skill, nor are they a way to practice. They have no runes, no masteries. So you can't even judge the proper damage that it'll do to players with runes and masteries on them.
Basically what I'm saying is, there's this trend that's been going on for a long time and I really really wish it would stop.
Now I totally get it. I get when it's a champion that's new and completely and utterly broken. But normally unless it's a situation like Zyra who was literally hotfixed THE DAY of the release, most of the time people don't realize just how stupidly OP the new champion is, until maybe 3-5 days after release.
But banning a champion, that has literally come out, barely five hours ago, in a normal game simply because you don't want a 'bad' player, that just.... it's silly. Really silly..
for the first month of release. Simply because I don't want someone on my team playing something that is easy to screw up on.
