i dont understand by building qss isn't worth the gold and by the time you build it the guy has killed you 5 times.

Except for the fact that Zhonya's is pretty much core on every non-zed mid champion... so no, it's not more gold, it's just putting off other items in exchange for being able to survive.

Zed CANNOT kill you if pop Zhonya's right after he appears from using his ult. His ult is his primary source of kills, and if he can't damage you while Death Mark is active then his threat value falls off the face of the earth.

And he builds armor pen regardless of what you build, so your argument is invalid.

It's not about the armor, it's about Zhonya'ing his ult. If you Zhonya's his ult in lane there is NO REASON you should be dying to Zed.

Zhonyas is an incredibly strong item with a generous AP boost and I can't think of a single AP mid laner who wouldn't benefit from rushing it against Zed - at the very least you should be able to acquire a Seeker's before Zed hits 6, and if you have that much he shouldn't be able to one-shot you with his burst then and there, let alone kill you 5 times (unless you suck at dodging his poke but that isn't too hard with practice)

As for AD champions, I admit that QSS is kinda not the most worthwhile buy because the MR doesn't do anything against Zed/it only negates the death mark pop but the only AD champions played mid who are fragile enough to get bursted down by Zed that I can think of are Talon and Riven, and the former's ult negates Zed's (unless he buys pinks) while the latter has enough CC/shield/mobility to deal with him or escape.

the problem with rushing Zonias on mages is that you´ll have a bad midgame on most of them, as you´ll have either less AP or less CDR than the standard-build. And till you have finished Zonias Zed will just start splitpushing vs someone that doesn´t have a Zonias. The only thing you can do vs a really good Zed is to counterpick him.

All you're doing is delaying other items since Zhonya's is a common item on most ap-mids. When he ults, pop your stasis and watch him curse as his damage is null and void. If you need more help, take Exhaust as a summoner, he now can't kill you.

Zhonyas, exhaust, cc, range

pick at least one. if cc or range, you need some skill to not die. if exhaust of zhonya, not so much.

he can't gank you when you're at your tower

.......which is where you are from levels 1-6 as anivia. go for it jungler. and if they try to dive you, LOL Q stun, exhaust, egg. good luck

recently i have been seeing people screw the the tower aggro i don't know if you watched worlds. I just left a solo que game me(kassadin) and the enemy mid laner zed. They didnt kill me at first they warded my junglers camps and killed them ever time he went to them. Zed then procced to stomp me because he was level 9 and i was level 10. When the jungler ganked they where some how switching tower aggro and just kept diving me.

you can't trade enough aggro at low levels to kill an anivia twice through an exhaust and q with only 2 people. it'd take 3 if they're highly mobile, 4 if not. trust me on this one, a LOT of people have tried, i've had ~400 ranked games on anivia. not to mention you actually out damage zed straight up anyway.

this isn't really on point anymore anyway, if you're relying on jungler help to argue that zed will win lane, you're admitting he's weaker without help

Swain can hold his own against zed and most other assassins in the game, especially once you hit lvl 6. Oya unless zed is pwning you (which he shouldnt) rush roa before anything else, it solves alot of health/mana issues and ya wanna get it stacked sooner than later

What the actual fuck did I just read?

You're playing against an AD-based assassin and thinking that his main counter is MR?

Not only that, but you're entirely overlooking Zhonya's Hourglass. Seeker's Armguard gives you more Armor than he can ignore with ArPen unless his entire rune page is ArPen, and Zhonya's active soundly shuts down his ultimate.

To be honest, playing against Zed is just a joke, because of how easy he is to demolish in mid lane. I actually get mad at the people on my team who attempt to play Zed because 99% of them fail harder then anything else.

If you're having that much trouble with Zed, maybe you should practice more.

Take barrier or exhaust. Rush an armguard. Play safe until you get Zhonyas. You're an AP mid - you should be able to farm from a distance. Don't let your HP get low. If he's out harassing you, then yeah, you're going to have major issues.
