ASol Possibly Worst New Champ?

Not talking about the "coolness" of his character model or anything like that...cause it is badass. But He gets countered by quite literally every single top played/top performing mid laner and is a niche pick out of the jungle. In the meta of movement speed and dashes, his kit simply is not viable in the current state of the game..and his Q cooldown is way too long. "Oh but his Q can get so big and stun the entire team"...well with any sort of ward presence on the map, if that actually ever happens then your team deserves to lose.

How viable do you think ASol is in this current meta and why?

Illaoi is the worst new champion. A Sol has literally been out for like, a couple of hours, give it time.

Viable, no.

Kind of like Jhin in most SoloQ games, especially lower elo where you dont have special comps for him.

There may be a comp good for him., but overall wont be viable.

At least imo

I was also thinking about this earlier in the cycle. His other issue is that he wants to build ROA in a fast meta.

HOWEVER.

He has very good cc, dmg, and utility. If his waveclear ever gets buffed, he wont have to worry about counters in midlane. Think about victor. He just lazors a wave and backs off if he doesnt think he can kill you and he is fine.

Dont know why we dont see a ton of victor other than that there may be more OP things out there than an AOE burst mage with no direct hard cc.

My point is, Aurelion Sol definatly could have some trouble, but his kit isnt lame, unappealing, or irrelevant. You could leave his dmg to champions alone and make him a really safe laner by buffing passive dmg to minions. EZPZ. A.Sol low impact viability changes right there.

Waveclear is underestimated IMO.

Literally nobody knows how to play him, can you people stop crying about new champs being weak?

Seriously did everyone forget Gnar? Yasuo? Tahm? Jihn?

I have not play with him yet but from what I can see his kit looks like it would be a decent support mage more then anything.

I don't think he is viable at all in the current meta. His passive causes him to push the lane extremely hard early on and with some of the most popular junglers having a lot of mobility and burst, the early game just doesn't bode well for him. Not to mention the fact that the standard starting build, roa into rylais, gives him great tankiness but not as much damage as other mages wh. His ratios also aren't the best and his damage takes way too long when compared to other mages.

Everyone was saying Jhin was bad, now he's in pretty much every single game, jus sayin...

Meta Viability : Zero.

Fun Normals Champion? 10/10

He's interesting.

I had a celestial battle up top lane versus him earlier (Soraka vs. Aurelion Sol... blame a bot lane that called "bot or feed") and while he dominated lane zoning, we were even on CS and neither one of us scored a kill on the other until we'd both left laning. He's got a pretty nasty "I wreck you" radius, but outside of that, his engages are REALLY telegraphed.

I think he might be pretty strong but he feels kinda weird to play.

Big Lincoln3/24/2016, 7:37:35 PM1 votes

i think he's fine and that listening to boards' unviability comments would be ridiculous given the track record so far

Honestly, I think if they end up buffing ASol, then when a meta rolls around that DOES Favor him, (Slow high stalling waveclear games) A Sol will become so insanely OP he'll end up getting nerfed. I'd say leave him alone honestly.
