Permaban Account Buyback System

Ive never been banned or anything like that, but as a frequent forums visitor I see daily the amount of people who come on here to explain how they did nothing to warrant their ban and how they are innocent and will do anything to get their accounts back...

What if there was a system where you could buy your account back for like $50? I bet most people would do it considering they spent, and will spend, much more than $50 on their current account and the rebuilding of their new account. Also, if the point is to keep them out of the community, there is nothing stopping them from simply creating a new account and the virus is right back where it started. So how about you make a little money on their return and allow them to come back?

Permabanning them, forcing them to create a new account (essentially becoming a permanent smurf), ruins the game for the other true low level players and will drive more newbies (non-offensive, just new players) away and encourage a more toxic community. So skip all that and just allow them to buy their accounts back, creating a healthier entry-level environment and some pocket cash for you at Riot.

I have a moral issue with that. You are given four chances to clean up your act before Riot permanently suspends you. If you go through all of that, are banned for bad behavior, and then told "For X amount of dollars, we'll give you your account back," that negates the punishments you were given. You're basically told that you can screw up, be banned forever, but come back honky dory clean by merely forking over a few dollars.

Sorry. The rules are there for a reason. You must follow them. If you break them, there are consequences. Break them enough and you clearly have demonstrated that you don't belong here. This isn't Monopoly where you pay $200.00 to get out of jail and move on like nothing happened.

No, you shouldn't be able to pay your way out of trouble. And the current system reflects that. A permaban isn't "We want you to make a new account and spend more money" it's "You're the kind of player we don't want in our game, so take your money somewhere else."

Riot has experimented with account redemption in the past, the majority of the offenders were again permanently banned so it was scrapped. There was a discussion about this a couple months ago.

They don't IP ban because it's ridiculously easy to change your IP address, and because of collateral damage. The last time they tried an IP ban (several years ago), it knocked out a entire college dorm.

"Let created a system where I can talks down to people just because I have money to buy back my account." This thread brought to you by Trump voter. http://www.auplod.com/u/uopadl6d63e.png

This is easily the worst idea I've read regarding perma banned accounts LMAO!

They already have this system, just have to be an LCS player or famous streamer to qualify. Also, although I do totally agree with the ban system. It is still very much a money grab. If they didn't want you to be part of the community anymore they would IP ban.

This actually would be a fair system. It would allow FIRST TIME offenders to redeem themselves. I played a game where they did something similar and it worked rather well. The repeat offenders were banned a second time and that's that.

Pehaps:

  1. Permanent Suspension can be lifted after 3 months with $50 (or different price) account recovery option.
  2. Same rules still apply to this account like any other
  3. 2nd Permanent suspension will not be removed under any circumstances

I think this is fair given the maturity level in the community. Are some people just absurd? yeah, should they be banned? yeah. Should they be given ONE second chance? Yes.

Its not about the Riot making money on the $50 to reinstate their account...its to keep that player out of low level play, ruining the experience for everyone else.

I mean you want to talk about this game crumbling from the ground up, forcing higher level toxic players into a new player base is exactly how you are going to do it.

Going back up the latter is part of the punishment as well should they continue to play keep in mind when you make an account you get the option to pic noive or expert , given that you are more likely to get low skill play should they pick expert thur resulting in them reverting to the behiover that caused them to get baned in the first place.

My point is buy back would not be a good idea as it causes a reduction in the permanent ban punishment

If you know how difficult it is to get permabanned, you would know how stupid this idea is.

RavenHusky2/12/2016, 6:16:04 PM1 votes

No. If you got permabanned, Riot doesn't want you playing this game anymore. Go play some other game.

Then perma-bans would be completely meaningless.

Riot is not $2 games or EA. They will not sacrifice the integrity of their system for some quick , short term profit.

rito would like this anyway because it makes them money and thats all they care about
