When does MMR even out?

So I started out the season playing on a toaster computer, and I finally upgraded. Now I'm starting to have some good games, but my win/loss ratio still sucks, so for every loss is the equivalent of LP for two wins. When my wins are finally more than my losses will I begin to gain more LP for my matches won and not lose so much LP for my losses?

I don't really understand how the system calculates the LP for wins & losses.

How much LP do you per win/loss?

(Copy pasted from my response in a very similar thread.)

It's MMR based, not win-loss ratio. They're often closely related if you only solo, but your mmr gains/losses depend on your mmr relative to the mmrs of your team/your opponents team. Depending on matchmaking times and time of day, even solo you can get some variation in the average mmrs of teams compared to yourself.

If you duo with someone with a significantly higher MMR than you, you'll be lower than the average mmr in that game, and so the system expects you to lose. If you do lose, you won't lose much MMR, but if you win than you'll gain much more MMR. The reverse is true if you duo with someone with a somewhat lower MMR than you, as then you'd have an MMR above the average for the game and so expected to win.
