KDA over Wins?

I'm trying to wrap my head around why someone would be more concerned with their KDA than winning the game?

I had a Lee Sin JG a few games back that went 10/1 with nearly 400 farm, but he would purposefully run away from team fights. I consider this trolling, because it basically was, but I don't understand why someone would care about stat padding KDA and farm for the sake of. Farming an S-rating in a ranked game, perhaps? Still, why bother? The whole game felt like an MMO of some kind, and the Lee Sin was an elitist solo ganking assassin playing for LULZ.

He was actually a really skilled player, but just refused to participate in team fights. I still don't get it. A fight would break out and everyone's like, "Where's Lee?" ---- You know, killin' raptors.

You were 0-7, your top was 3-10 your mid 1-4.

Yeah kid, you can try and teamfight all you want, but you arent going to win anything like that. Lee Sin had 5 levels on you and the enemy team was mostly 17. There is NO situation in which ANY teamfight would have gone in your direction. Suck it up and admit your mistakes, Lee Sin did what he could but still couldn't keep you or any of your teammates from making bad decisions.
