If you gotta eat, can you just leave a Ranked game

ryona··1 votes·876 views

A freshly cooked steak and mashed potatoes were ready by 6:00. Without any malice in the middle of a ranked game, is it acceptable to just explain to your team you have to eat then leave politely? Because people get incredibly mad at this.

Why even start a game if you know exactly when you can't play?

Before you start a game, especially if it's ranked, as yourself this.

"Do you have an hour of free time?"

If yes, play a game of League.

If no, play a game of HOTS.

How can you climb if you're leaving the game?

i try to finish before i go to eat

So if you can't finish the game, you just leave? Does that sound fair to the other 4 people on your team?

i mean it's just a video game, no?

If it's just a video game then why does it matter if you climb or not?

People play ranked to improve and climb, you're just hindering them when you do that type of stuff.

because it's fun?? Fun is the core of what matters

Well, is it gonna be fun if you get banned? I mean it's just a video game, who cares about all the progress and time you put in.

I mean it's not like I am rage quitting, I have a valid excuse to go.

You're right, you do have a valid excuse, but you're still leaving which is against the rules. If you know your mom (or dad or whoever) is cooking supper, then you know you shouldn't start a game.

like i mean if someone's internet went down and they couldn't do anything about it should they be banned??

There is a difference between a uncontrollable circumstance and a controllable one. You know -someone- is cooking super and yet you still play knowing you will probably have to leave. You know you're going to have to leave, yet you decide to still do it. If you don't have a hour to put in then don't play ranked, it's pretty simple.

Not if it is the first time. But riot can tell weather you dc or left. A dc is not as punishable as a afk or leaving. If you leave a ranked game for something that is not an emergency then you should get banned. Learn to cook yourself or eat your food cold you aren't so hungry you can't finish a game

thats not the person at fault you just leaving because you dont care about anyone else makes you at fault stop trying to make yourself seem like less of a shitty person

Quiet Dude1 votes

You can leave, but if you do it enough times, you won't get to queue again. Ever. So probably shouldnt queue for a game if your mom is making dinner.

Ain't fun for the 4 people you abandon.

As a general rule, if you have obligations that you know will interfere with a game if it goes on too long, don't play the game.

I feel like y'all got baited

No one is this ignorant. I feel like OP baited you all with a troll topic. If it was true, then let this dude continue his ways. He will get a perma ban eventually, and then we won't have to put up with him.

Purposefully making it inconvenient for the other players on your team--no matter what excuse you have--is against the code of conduct for fair gameplay. You would be wise to start exercising more maturity about when it is appropriate to play. Starting a match close to dinner time is never a good idea.

My personal time to play is 10pm after my kids go to bed. It's nice and quiet at that hour and I know I won't be interrupted by them.
