Both has very different kit.

Blitzcrank's an all-in offensive support who prioritizes in catching out a single target & contains him down, but at a cost of very little defensive abilities & almost unnoticeable presence in teamfights.
Thresh's a semi offensive & defensive support who prioritizes in getting into the fray if he were to land the perfect hook on a specific target, while also having the ability to save a teammate or pushes/slow down the chasing enemies.

Except 3 of their 4 active spells function almost identically, and almost to the exact same end and purpose, just with slight twists.

I always question how Thresh even managed to get released in the first place (and managed to avoid being reworked for so long), given his kit is almost surely a complete rip-off of Blitz, just not down-to-the-last-letter level of rip-off; and this only shows harder when Thresh's role and gameplay literally has nothing to do with his thematic character besides the hook (first and foremost, he shouldn't even be a primary support champion).

Rework Thresh already.

Thresh' hook doesn't go through wall Thresh' hook is delayed Thresh' hook doesn't pull you in the middle of the team suddenly kidnapping you and preventing allies from casting spells on your like janna's shield Thresh' hook doesn't deal 300 magic damage

Every single time the boards bring thresh on the table wrong arguments come from everywhere

Thresh's kit is not a rip of blitz, it's thresh's kit himself he doesn't have a huge movement speed steroid to engage, he doesn't have high damage in 0.5 second like blitzcrank, he doesn't have the tankiness of blitzcrank with base stats+mana shield

Wanna know something? literally everything thresh does can be done by alistar right now, Alistar is a better thresh in any way except lantern saving He is immortal Has sustain Is overloaded with reliable CC can insec someone can engage without failing Has insane base movement speed allowing him to roam+reliable ganks Has insane damage allowing all ins with again reliable engage

But people would rather complain about thresh than alistar

You'd be pretty deep in denial if you don't think Blitz and Thresh's kits are dangerously close to be clones to one another. I'm sure twists here and there do not make a rip-off not a rip-off, given their high level designs are almost identical. The rip-off part is only more obvious given Thresh for all intends and purposes, should have nothing to do with teamplay given his character nature, and his current kit can only be described as extremely contrived for whatever ends.

If Thresh is healthier, then it could've been the Blitz rework he desperately needs and should be his, and then we'll give Thresh a new kit. Again, Thresh's kit has literally nothing to do with who he is anyway.

It's unlikely Riot would do this, but it is the only way to do this right. Then again, this is a lost cause from the very beginning, when someone thought rather than improving Blitz they could just make another one.
