Are we getting anything free or...?

It's the 10 year anniversary. Riot's making a pretty big deal out of it. It's a rare thing, for a game to still be successful after 10 years. I don't know how it's still successful, but here we are.

I wonder, then... Does Riot intend to give us something free in celebration? Japanese games often give out free things every yearly anniversary (for example, for mobile games, gacha draws, which normally cost money). These things are roughly equivalent to League's skins, in terms of their place in the game's business model.

Do you think Riot will be giving us free skins to celebrate?

... How likely is it they'll release a set of anniversary skins for the game's most popular champions and charge us for them instead?

... ... Why aren't they at least doing a poll?

... ... ... ... Are we gonna get anything besides a new logo?

Now, I dislike Riot's politic's as much as the next guy.

But we do have an entire system that gives us free stuff. Hextech. You get like 10 free skins per year from that. Not counting any loot from events.

I remember I had maybe 1-5(all free) skins in the first 3-4 years of league Now I have more than 140. And I have paid for like 10 skins worth of rp(passes mostly to farm the extra things for extra skins xD)

What I would like is riot to reward people that have played since season 1 until now. I think those should be the real MVPs of that celebration. Not 2 year old accounts for example.

Yes but gacha games also have a way to earn free things (for example, getting a certain number of crystals per day for logging in), so I still thing it'd be nice to get something free for the anniversary. :)

Don't get me wrong, I would love to get something free. What I would love the most would be a game mode of league in season 1 with only those champions available.

I am just saying that we are already getting stuff that is ONLY AVAILABLE FOR MONEY free on a monthly basis.

Yeah I am not saying that the ONLY people to get reward should be those that have played for 10 years. But it would be perfect imo if Riot at least rewarded your loyalty with idk... A " Perfect 10" emote or something. NOT AN ICON lel. Something small but swaggy that is JUST for you.

Or even an exclusive little legend?

Sticking with this game for 10 years means a fuckton of loyalty, and I am not even asking for something absurd like "Give them Ufo Corki Black Ali Young Ryze and King Rammus" just a small token of appreciation.

I don't rly know about this I feel like alot of people would be jealous and if i am honest i don't even know if there are many s1 players playing league since they are the one who knows the best how game changed.

Remember events used to come with its special game mode maps AND quests?

If only they can do events like they used to.

Riot here's your chance to reopen the rotating game modes, as well as bring back game modes of previous events and give us a new game mode to celebrate the 10 year anniversary! Though you probably won't take it since TFT. Damn.

I have no idea why its so hard for people on the Boards to understand that you are not entitled to free stuff.

This is something that applies to virtually all facets of life. You never have been entitled and you never will be.

Also, they made it very clear that they will announce everything that’s happening on October 15. Please read before you complain.

When did I say I was entitled to anything? Who even said I was complaining? I was voicing a matter of legitimate curiosity, with a little facetiousness about Riot's fabled greed. You may want to avoid throwing accusations at strangers on the internet until you're 100% positive of their intentions, sarcasm is a little difficult to detect through text.

I mean those of us that played back in 2016 already got the Riot Kayle skin for free during their 10 year anniversary as a company. So, I dunno what they plan to do now.

....Why do people think the new logo is a gift? Legit they just modernized the logo to step out of 2009 (im not a fan of it bu i understand the business/artistic end of it)

As for free stuf, broski u were lucky to get a ward skin or an icon back in the day for free. Legit i've gotten so many free skins from hextech alone its ridiculous.

I all honesty all I really want (as a ls3 vet, not saying much but still) is prob just some sort of game mode. I dont wear rose colored glasses so i dont want a legcy league game mode...cuz dfg, old black cleaver, old kassadin, runic bulwark (i loved this thing), and revive/teleport combo can go die in a fire.

But legit, I want some or at least one of the game modes we had before, a decent event with missions, and legit, a nice lookin icon. and im gucci.
