All this time we've been lead to believe supports were supposed to peel and give kills to the carries. But no more! From here on, I will choose damage-focused champions and play for the KD rather than the KDA. Thank you to the wonderful and wise Fizz in my previous game, who elucidated this fact for me! From the guru's mouth:

Fizz: **** do something instead of sitting there 2/8 Alistar: Sincere question. Why do people ALWAYS ignore assists when calling out a support? I'm 2/8/17. Not 2/8. Fizz: your 2/8. your assists mean nothing

If you wish to focus on the kills and getting them as much as possible while still having some cc for the team, might I suggest Orianna ? She's got everything a support wants and an auto attack buffer. in the botlane is somewhat popular still and with his passive buffs I see no reason not to go for it. Want some cc, tankyness, but still want to ks like a boss? Then look no further than Chogath , he's like Velkoz except his ult is instant and he gets tanky. A classic Nidalee in the botlane makes anyone tilt assuming you land those spears. Your heal ain't that good but its attack speed buff makes up for it, plus if you lane with a Caitlyn you are guaranteed to give the enemy cancer.

Now go forth, take what you can, give nothing back.

That's very true. In my opinion, if everyone is having fun, you're doing things right. But so many take scores so seriously that you almost have to think as they do if you don't want to be eaten alive for a subpar game.

Since there may be others who misconstrue my dry sense of humor as vengeful fury, let me clarify that I don't intend to actually start playing the game like this. I was basically making a point about how supports are chewed out when the team is losing without counting their assists, and this Fizz actually went so far as to be self-aware of that fact. I don't care if we're losing, if the support is 0/6/35, it's not the support's fault.

Unless the support isn't warding, then it could be.

Conversely, if the support is 16/2/5 while the carry is 0/8/14, aren't people going to start asking questions?

BTW, 2/8/17 is NOT a bad game. I say you did pretty well.

(If the support isn't warding, he'll learn over time to break that habit. I used to not build Sightstone, because I wanted more damage/ tankiness. NOW, I always build Sightstone. My life is changed lol)

its not a bad game, but he didnt do great either. I personally believe that more than 5 deaths and you need to look at your game play.

Sometimes you need to make hero sacrifice plays, but if you are counting on them all the time, their is a problem with your game.

While I do agree that 8 death is not necessarily great, we don't really know anything about the other champions on the map.

For example, one of the main reason I'll ever pick Ali in ranked is if neither my top nor jungler picked a tank. This means that I'll be the one on the frontline and engaging as no one on my team can do the same. If OP was in such a case, 8 death is actually not that bad, since even Alistar tends to get melted pretty easily if he is the sole frontline.

But yeah, in general, 8 death is a bit under the "pretty well" bar.

fun fact i once was going yi and my friend going lulu support and we switched and couldn't switch back in time so she ended up playing yi support in short, she actually was pretty fed, i think she went 15/7/20 so i mean, go for it! also i feel you people always ignore support's assists, i always like to take count 2 assists as 1 kill tbh also not to mention when people bitch about a tank jungler/top having no kills but like 20 assists :v (tfw B- grade for 1/0/20 zac jungle, feelsbadman)

Hah, I remember a game where I played Nautilus support and accidentally kept stealing my team's kills. At the end of the game I had 17 kills, the full AP Annie mid lane had about 10.

I would mention the 35 assists I had but apparently that doesn't matter.
