Ok. i get there are champion types. fighters and tanks are seperate. but when a fighter builds tank. and a tank builds glass cannon. none of those champs are their respective intended classes anymore. I mean. I ask "why hecarim does so much damage with full tank items" and the fucking response i get " hes not a tank hes a fighter" well hes building tank what does that even mean? i don't really understand anything.

like imagine if ad carries build tank items and still did the same damage they do (which doesn't happen). would they still be ad carries if they killed me with 3 autos and its all reasonable?

if your volibear. and you have cinderhulk warmogs tabis sv dead mans thornmails and banshees. your full tank. your a tank. absorb damage. or any champion not just volibear or hecarim. you shouldn't be doing the damage a fighter that builds 3-4 damage item doing.

Because of the difference between fighters and tanks.

Fighters are tanky DPS. Tankys are tanky CC.

Tanks initiate fights and lock down priority targets. Fighters bash things over the head.

In both cases, the itemization and level of tankyness can be exactly the same, especially when talking about the Juggernaut sub-class of fighters. There isn't much separating a Leona and Nasus in regards to defense late-game, or even their build path. Not to mention there are 6 champion classes and only really 3 itemization paths in HP, AD, and AP. A lot of fighters and tanks do share the same itemization.

The difference between fighters and tanks is in play styles. Leona always wants to set up her allies for success, where Nasus wants to be much more self-reliant. Perfering 5v5 vs. 1v1 fights is a pretty massive difference that separates most tanks and fighters. Fighters like Nasus are also really close to a typical assassin, marksman, or mage in that Nasus mostly wants to kill things: he just relies on defense to survive long enough to kill things rather than speed or range. He still ultimately wants to be a carry that does carry things, and gets all the damage he needs to do so without itemizing for any damage. As such: health is a fairly valuable resource to accomplish that end, where with a tank like Leona: defense mostly makes her a sub-optimal target once she unloads her QWER AoE CC combo, allowing Leona to perform bullet-sponge duties on purpose and feel good about doing that.

And he doesn't.

Do you believe a full tank Voli does the damage of a full damage Voli? He doesn't do the damage of a Jax, Tryndamere, Fiora, Darius, or Gangplank either, all of whom build more damage than Voli.

So I looked up your discussion and 1 person said that. 1 PERSON. You are generalizing the entire board over 1 person.that was also not the only thing he said, he pointed out how his ms passive makes him able to chunk. Also what makes a fighter different is that he has a lower amount of cc then the average tank, but he has higher base damages, allowing to blow up your adc into bite sized adc nibble in 3 seconds if left undefended.

Indeed I agree with DeATHgOD5 Jax and MonkeyKing are in the Fighter section so they can and will burst out ADC's and other weaker fighters. Most of the time some Top players who play Jax MonkeyKing Fizz build tanky at top is so they can be annoying while doing decent amount of Damage while still being tanky for their team.
