The one change Sol needs to become more appealing overall

Making the damage on his Q also scale with the size of it. This was something that was asked for when he was first revealed and many were disappointed when it didn't happen. I'm positive his playrate will noticeably increase if he can finally drop a Q that is significantly large that does a butt ton of damage on a squishy.

Champs that require skill arent played as much.

Might be cool, but I wonder how something like this might be balanced. I have a feeling some parts of his kit are going to have to be nerfed to compensate. Also sol's E needs to be the same speed of his Q for giant Q's to work.

I believe after a certain point it is impossible to maintain the Q due to the lack of speed to keep up with it. The more move speed one has the longer they can maintain it though as Sol.

That would probably mean that his Q damage when it starts out would be very small, and as a Sol enthusiast I can tell that he's probably be weaker from this change. Either that or his roaming potential or sustained damage would decrease, both of which are more important to him than Q burst.

It could be possible for the bonus size scaling to not take affect until after a certain size though.

I'm pretty sure most Sol players would agree that an EQ combo is pretty much useless if you use it to just make a massive Q, since it essentially becomes a slower, more telegraphed Ashe ult that can get yanked out of midair. Sol relies heavily on his Q stun during roams to secure a kill once the enemy starts running since engaging with it is super unreliable, so if a change does go through that affects Q only after a certain size, while it would be a buff the change would be almost unfelt.

(Then again I'm still a mere plebeian on this champion so idk maybe I'm wrong.)

I don't play Sol, so I didn't know the combo was viewed as unoptimistic. Even more reason for this change then. Give payoff for players to try this. At the very least the damage will match the coolness of the combo.

Let's not make him more appealing, ty. The less of this broken nonsense I see, the better.

Make him less brainless? That's how I would describe laning against Sol. Dude just shoves you in quicker than Ekko on crack so that you can't roam or do anything.

@thread The change aurelion sol actually needs is for his empowered W to veer slightly to hit enemies. This isnt like DotA 2 where its really easy to keep people in your radius as IO.

I'm not sure encouraging spirit bombs is a great idea in that it's lacking in terms of engaging gameplay.

I mean if I could spirit bomb people as Sol (and actually do a lot of damage) it definitely get me aboard the Sol train. There were plenty of other people as well who would pick him based on the number of people I remember seeing wanting this change during his release.

What if W didn't cost anything, you give his stars a minor buff, and make it where w toggles the way the stats move in a few different ways?

Aka, it no longer has an "activate to boost damage" aspect, but rather w changes the way his passive stars move with up to like 3 or 4 different settings. Ranking w increases star damage and speed.
