Toxicity - oversensitivity praised.

I know 110% I'm going to get flamed HUGE for this. But I just have to say it, because it's been on my mind for a while now. I feel like the whole "you can't say anything bad at all, you aren't allowed to get frustrated with a trolling teammate" theme here on league is a bit much. Anytime I see someone type "reported" on ingame chat, all I picture in my head is a 4 year old running to their mommy, crying and saying "he picked on me" Is the general player-base of this game really that young? I'm asking in a non-sarcastic tone. I honestly want to know. I just feel like a little trash talk ingame doesn't hurt my feelings or get a rise out of me, so how is it so drastic and game changing for other people? I feel like if you can't handle a little trash talk about the game, you probably shouldn't be playing it. Keep in mind there is a big difference between spamming the N word or another extremely offensive word in ingame chat, as opposed to asking the jungle what in the world is he doing when he is 1/11/2. I feel like even if you TRY to say something constructive, the other person just writes "reported" as if they're wielding their protective "you cant trash talk me or I'm telling mom" shield.

it's more immature to flame someone, even if it's deserved, than it is to show some self-control and refrain from making an even more negative environment for the rest of your team

and some people will just take advice as a personal attack on how they're doing, no matter how nicely you put it

Why do people always refer to age when it comes to sensitivity? Arent those who flame and rage in a video games more immature and "kids"? Adults dont behave like that. Mature people dont behave like that. Only young, imatture "kids" use insulting/raging as a tool to communicate.

It really has nothing to do with age, but while i do agree too many people are "report" happy when it comes to this game. But its pointless and to some they believe it takes everyone to report the accuser in order for them to get punished when that has never been the case. But to be fair this is suppose to be a game. People are suppose to enjoy and relax, and while there is a competitive environment, you should still keep your cool when dealing with people like trolls, toxic people, feeders, or anyone in between.

The main reason why we have a rule like this is because instead of dealing with just the troll, now the other people on your team has to deal with a troll and a toxic person. Let alone the fact you calling them out does absolutely nothing to help solve the problem, and that's the main issue. If it does nothing why bother doing it in the first place instead of just trying to finish the game?

This goes for real life as well. It would be immature and downright idiotic to start yelling at someone who might be doing something in say a restaurant. Because now everyone there has to deal with two people auguring and the Establishment doesn't care who started it, they would throw both parties out as both of them are causing the scene and disrupting it for everyone else in the place.

It would Mature in the case of the game to just ignore the person. More often than not the person is only doing it to get attention and make sure you get punished because they know how the system works. They'll get punished eventually because of how hard it is to catch trolls, but toxicity is easier because all that needs to be done is check the chat logs. As long as they get your attention they will always win. So why bother giving into their demands and giving them something they crave when you could do the right thing and just ignore them. Ignoring them either makes them stop, or gives you more evidence against them to get them punished!

It's a sign of the troubled time we currently live in. Look at the majority of millennials, they are soft, entitled, disregard facts or logic if it takes them out of thier safe space. People in general now are simply pathetic.

It is sad you can no longer give advice in game because someone will get offended or take it the wrong way and have thier queue party report you.
