So everyone hates Zyra? Why?

I thought it was just in my head until my team confirmed it just now. I am relatively new to league, however, I usually get an S- or higher in matches, as Zyra. I have all my mastery 7 tokens ( just need the blue essence ) and I think I'm pretty good with her. I CC out with wazoo, time my ults right, and poke a lot. But it seems that no matter what, in any game I play, no matter how great I do, no one honors me or gives me any credit. Like none whatsoever. So I finally asked my team in the match chat after we won just now, and asked what the deal was and if people hated Zyra, and they said yes that she's "ez" requires no skill, and they don't respect her as a champ. Meanwhile, I'm scratching my head over here because she's been nerfed to the ground relentlessly over the last 9 months. So why all the Zyra hate? I'm really discouraged now.

I'd guess it's mostly due to the anti-fun nature of her kit for a lot of people. Her plants just kinda spit endlessly st you and the seed Ai seems to always favour Zyra's cast over destroying the seed. If she has Rylai's you can't really move.

there is that trigger word again that people are trying use to justify changes to champs

just as a counter point if i may(kinda who i am ) wouldnt some of the fun of the game playing vs a champ that you find difficult and learning and getting better improving to the point of that champ no longer frustrates you and you can beat them?

call me crazy (most do ) like the way people feel about alot of champs being anti fun cuz they get frustrated playing a X champ some what stems from a lack of game knowledge and skill on how to play around that champ?

I didn't say I wouldn't play vs. Zyra or blow her up every chance I get because she is super squishy and positioning is hard on her.

I'd put it akin to a toned-down version of a Swain with Rylais. It just feels bad on the receiving end.

When a player neither owns nor plays the champ (Zyra has quite a low playrate so they don't often encounter her either) they don't learn their cds or that when her E is down they can jump her.

This contributes to the OPs allies not understanding the OPs actual skill on the champ, and thus leading to the low honour count (which was the question).

is why i just stomped her as maokai

ive come to accept the new ult... still think it needs lower cdr and faster travel speed...

but i do miss the old one, i miss the % hp damage on his twisted advance

but apparently they are gonna nerf his Q on damage n cooldowns due to the cinderhulk tank meta

which makes zero sense to nerf his Q ( lane,trade,cs tool ) cuz cinderhulk is making tanks strong

I've seen some pretty sweet Mao ults. Can really tell a bad from a good player now, which is nice.

Didn't they pull the Maokai nerf? Pretty sure they did.

i hope so cuz on the post in the DEV Corner part of the boards about it... i told them they were fukin stupid to nerf the damage and or cd on the ability

im all fine if you wanna increase mana cost per lvl whatever but the damage HE BUILDS NO DAMAGE (outside of me who plays him ap bruiser either ROA/MASK and landries with iceborn ) i doubt i had any influence but i wanna feel like i am important

Well it's not on the Surrender@20 patch summary anymore, but we'll see for sure when the patch notes are released. The next couple patched are for Worlds balance though so, they are buffing Ekko's E. Pretty unsure about that specific change being a good one.

lol a game ago i was vs yorick top... he tried and tried just couldnt push me out of lane as maokai... and i was able to out trade him at ever aspect of laning phase too bad the rest of my team wasnt doing hot so after mid,jng,bot all lost and i got a 5 man gank top that finally killed me my team FF

I wouldn't say she's easy because if you're not hitting e's and q's frequently you wont be much use at all.

Exactly. Like they already made it so you HAVE to auto attack an enemy champ to get ur plants to attack them instead of their minions.... Jesus

Agreed, she's not an easy champ at all. One thing that confused me is why people think it's insane to go Zyra mid, it's not actually that bad.

She has a lot of raw damage that feels free. You walk into lane against a Zyra with a Sightstone and teir two spellthiefs, and she can half-shot you without burning ult or a summoner.

It's cause she is brain dead and she is easy to play now. Old Zyra took more skill, new Zyra less so.

If she gets a combo off level 1 in lane it can take almost half the ADC's HP off if they dont burn flash. Thats why.

They don't speak for the entire community. It's likely about how they hate mage supports but they won't tell you that, they want to make you feel bad. Just ignore them.

Because nobody likes you when you play a mage support. But you also can carry yourself out of low Elo without relying on your team too much. So you do you. Why waste time giving a shit when you could annoy all the people who do?

Because of the plants. Zyra before the rework required some thought and had even a cheesy passive skillshot after death. Now you can afk and spam emotes while the plants kill everyone.
