@Riot Why don't you listen to your f**king players when it comes to Yasuo?
As the title says, RiotScruffy's dev post outlines several key things Riot looks for when deciding if a champion needs changes. As was mentioned by commenters on the post, Yasuo checks off a minimum of 6 boxes out of the 11 things that Riot look at when evaluating if a champion is healthy.
Riot Scruffy explicitly stated that they generally want a champion to have 1-2 of these things, yet Yasuo gets to exist with 6+ of the 11.
This was pointed out by a commenter on the thread, which no Rioter responded to, of course, and then someone asked about "the elephant in the room, Yasuo," to which RiotScruffy rersponded:
**"Yasuo has a lot of tools but actually doesn't suffer from this problem as a whole. His winrate actually goes down in higher ELO play as opponents learn to exploit him.
The core combo of being a squishy melee without strong burst leaves a lot of opportunity for opponents to stop him."**
I'm trying to figure out what this actually means, since it was acknowledged that he has a lot of tools, and Riot has previously mentioned that winrates don't tell the whole story (and evidenced by the post-release Zoe nerfs despite her winrate). Going beyond that, Yasuo currently has a banrate of over 50% across all ELOs in the last month, which is a strong lead on the next-highest champion. So clearly Yasuo, like release-Zoe, has something inherently wrong with their kit that makes people not want to play against that champion more than any other champion in the game.
Then RiotScruffy goes on to say that he's a 'squishy' melee champ. If he is squishy, then why is he buying Sterak's Gage, an item that gives health and a conditional shield on top of a passive that gives him a shield and an idiot-proof ability that blocks projectiles?
You're saying he doesn't have burst? How do you figure when he has Infinity Edge and Shiv/PD so he crits on every attack? His kit also gives him free armor penetration.
Where are these alleged opportunities to stop him? Oh he used his windwall? Guess what, he'll sit back until it comes up, regenerating his passive shield during that time, and then while your farming inevitably results in the wave pushing to his side, he'll have his windwall back and can dash on all your minions to kill you. Not to mention since he is a manaless champion, any mana-user he faces is at a serious disadvantage since they'll go oom in lane if they try to bully him (which doesn't stick because as soon as his shield breaks he'll back off and recharge it) or farm (which will result in the wave pushing since most mana-users deal AOE).
Even if you manage to get a lead on him, since he gets to double-dip on crit chance, a one-item spike for you is equal to a one-and-a-half-item spike for Yasuo. Utter bullshit.
TL;DR: Riot, why don't you listen to your players about Yasuo? He's the most overloaded, frustrating champ to play against, no one enjoys laning against him, yet you refuse to acknowledge that he's a problem. He's banned in 50+% of games and you refuse to listen to reason. What the hell gives here Riot?
