Seriously what the living fk is this B.S? I want to rank and play my best role and also get a team who are playing their top 2 roles. Why in the living hell has not a single Rioter even try to reply to over 7 top board post about auto fill being in place since the start of the season?

It's fair to say people are getting fed up about how we are force to auto fill when we are ranking and our rank point depends on it. For all the butt kissers of Riot saying "These post where you cuss them out are the reason why they don't talk in post", well I wouldn't if they would ever post on at least 1 of the 13 top listed post in the past soon to be 2 month.

They have a habit of not even talking to the players unless it's kissing their ass or praising them, auto fill,10 ban,Tribunal, how a intentional feeder goes 7 games of feeding on purpose and has not been ban yet.

Recent history would suggest otherwise (kog rework revert, solo que, their comments on the results of the vel rework, sand box mode, etc.). Riot openly admits to their mistakes quite often.

Personally I believe autofill was a healthy change. First of all I think that everyone who goes into ranked should probably have a basic understanding of how to play every role (but that is totally just my opinion). Second, it helps to reduce que times now that the ranked que's are split. Third and best of all, it makes it so choosing fill or support secondary does not mean you will automatically be support. I find strange people think they are entitled to certain roles just because they prefer them.

No one tries to find any context for their comments any more...riot is miles ahead of other similar video game companies. You go on any of their forums and tell me if you see the kind of interaction you see here. you go on any of their announcement pages and see if they are openly admitting to mistakes like riot does.

You make a really good point. It seems that fact that Riot will dialog with players and consider their concerns makes it more frustrating for some when their opinion is not addressed.

Well, that's a few changes in the last few months. They have been 100% consistently stubborn about every horrible change for the 6 years prior to that. I'm happy to give them credit for what they've done but there is a reason they have this reputation. Hopefully the game benefits from it - since listening to players doesn't always do that.

i logged in just to up vote this and tell you that i cant agree with you more. i truly believe that it should be more than just lvl 30 and a handful of champs to play ranked. i think you should have a min number of games at each role, or at least min number of game at 3-4 roles.

Nah, they don't. Only after several months, when the boards are still being flooded with complaints, that's when they do something. Also, plenty of people don't give a crap if they have to wait a couple of minutes extra to get their role. If people wanted autofill, they have the option to click fill. It's a game, you play it on your free time. It's not up to Riot to tell people what to play lmao.

Actually most people enjoy playing champions with specific playstyles, or even a single champion (one trick ponies). As most of the champs are viable in only one role, you can't really expect from them to play another role, with a different champion and enjoy game the same.

The thing is this a team game. Other people want those roles too. Team builder is a good example of what happens when people get exactly what they want in champ select. The que times were so unbelievably long that most people decided to play blind/draft which made the que times even longer.

Sounds like ranked isn't worth my time. Playing metas. Getting stuck in roles I don't want. Most likely getting my main permabanned so that I have to play other champs I dislike. I think I'm just going to give up on ranked this season.

Was hoping rank would change this season after Riot fked up rank with Dynamio Q but I guess not this year too with this permanent auto fill.

Weird how the 5 seasons before that were autofill as well except you had 4 other people claiming that they should get your roll instead. You only autofill every other game and even then, at least in my experience, I get my chosen rolls more often than I get filled. People are blowing this way out of proportion. In other words, get good. Have 2-3 pocket picks for every roll. It's honestly not hard.

People got used to not having to learn other roles.
Before Season 6, it was worse where people said "mid or feed" or what have you
People dodge like motherfuckers. I haven't played much since the Assassin Update dropped, but when I do play it often comes down to the person who got autofilled to support dodging every game until I'm the one who gets autofilled.
People want to play the champ they want in the position they want.

I mean you complain about needing to play meta then say your main gets banned. Only champs that work really well in the meta (or are blatently op) are banned.

Why are you complaining about autofill if you played in both season 4 and 5? Every ranked game before dynamic queue was autofill based on pick order.

If you want to get one of your selected roles every game just reset the queue after it hits 2 minutes. You will realise why Riot can't remove autofill when you end up waiting half an hour for each game. It is simply not viable for queue health.

Difference is in those seasons, people were basically forced into learning every role. You'd have more people who knew how to play more roles. I use to be a decent jungler when I had to jungle. Now if I was autofilled Jg I'd ask to switch or dodge.

No I'm not. Everyone who does dodge usually dodges because they "have to support". I NEVER dodge when I'm support. I don't like it, but I can play it. And instead of me picking a jungler I haven't played for about a year I dodge so at least everyone has a chance at a fair game. (I've only been autofilled jungle once, guess the jokes on you.)

Perhaps the solution for you is to find a jungler you can not completely suck with in S7, so you don't have to dodge.

If the entire time they've enabled autofill I've dodged once because I was jungle it's not a problem. I've had autofill enabled nearly every game (even AFTER I've been autofilled support) but then again I was also in Platinum games.

Then go learn jungle, why is that so hard? I don't really ever play support on my own, but I've taken some time to learn it and I've been autofilled and sit at a hardy 100% win rate in that position, over only 3 games, but still, I'm happy with that. I've played adc about 3 times as well. Again, I've won 2 of the 3 times I've played it. I queue up for mid and top, but that doesn't stop me from learning to play at least one or two champs in the other positions.

But you mentioned you don't mind playing support. So play support when you are at risk of being auto-filled and earn protection. Or pick up an easy to use yet highly effective jungler. Might I suggest Amumu? He's who I learned how to jungle on.

Because you had a much higher chance to play the role you wanted. In season 4 I was able to get mid/top 97%+ of the time. Before, you were discussing what roles you preferred, but right now riots champion select system is so badly coded that it doesn't check one last time if its really maximizing the amount of people getting the role they want.

Personally i love auto fill it lets me pick what i want, and occasinally get sup. I lo ve support but it used to be that if i put sup on either role i would get it everytime guaranteed

It's either this, or have 50+ minute queue times because only 10% of the entire league community even gets the thought of willingly playing support. It's not that hard to learn other roles and play them with atleast competence. This will always be better than season 4's system of "Oh you're last pick? Play support dipshit I'm going mid."

Before autofill I had average queues of about 10 minutes. After autofill I have 15-20 minute queues with 3-4 dodges per queue. So much better.

Regardless, it illustrates the point: your team is at an inherent disadvantage when someone is being auto-filled. In normals, FINE, I can deal with this garbage, but in ranked? Heck no. There is literally no point in having a role selection as long as this auto-fill thing is active. What's the point Riot??????

I don't give a crap if I have to wit 20 minutes to get my prefered role. I'm sure as heck tired of getting auto-filled support and losing my main role. The worst part is, you don't even get your second role. Either you get your main role or you get auto-filled.

What you want is irrelevant. The role distribution is not good at all, people avoid certain roles. That's why autofill needs to exist. It's there to ensure queue times aren't too long because if they are long, the match quality takes a big dive because matchmaker needs to look for teammates outside of a specific ELO.

There's nothing to talk about. Autofill existed in the old SQ system, it exists now. The difference is that now it's a transparent system that tells you when you're going to autofill, what you're going to be playing and even protects you from itself in a few games after you had to autofill. You also never autofill in promos. The old "autofill" wasn't really an intended feature, if was more like an unwritten rule of the community - "first come, first serve". Random player placements in the champion select screen pretty much dictated that 4th and 5th picks play what no one wanted to play.

People like you have a habit of thinking the game can be made to reflect their own perceptions, instead of actual data. I know you'd like nothing less than Riot bending over and letting you dictate the changes but that's not how it works. If you want a fair environment, you go by the data and not the "wants" of individuals. Which means that they don't ignore your feedback, they have to compare it to the data and figure out what changes are needed.
