Hecarim. I see people saying he is strong, and apparently he has the win % to prove it.... but why? I don't play as Hec, but I am trying to broaden my champ pool for jungling and started looking into him. Whenever I fight a Hec I never really have an issue, most the time they just fly in and die to my team and thats that. Obviously it always boils down to the player using them, but I am curious as to what they are doing so horribly wrong.

Long story short, I want to use Hecarim but I dont want to be exactly like all the enemy Hecarim's I have fought so far. Thoughts?

It's a mix of his consistent damage and W healing

If he dives into enemy team and his team doesn't follow up, yea he's super dead, but if anyone on his team can pump out decent damage he's going to become unkillable with his W up

So I'm a Hecarim main. Hecarim's got great jungle clear throughout the game. His post level-6 ganks are pretty busted with the flat damage on his ultimate being strong. His W healing is actually busted in teamfights. If your team isn't hardcore losing then you can usually just tank everything, barely die but win the teamfight. His damage turns on with just item 3078. He does fall off at about 40 minutes, but that's rarely an issue.

Most Hecarim's that don't main him are pretty awful at him. They tend to A: not get enough farm. B: Itemize poorly for the situation. C: forget that lane ganking works very well on Hecarim. D: Dive in a million miles ahead of their team so that they die before their team can engage. and E: Not correctly utilize the Pony's super speed which allows him to take very odd routes when running and chasing.

Mostly for similar reasons Lee is good.

He can gank early, and do a ton of burst. He's mobile enough that he can gank bot lane, then top lane in the time it takes the enemy jungle just to walk down to bot lane. By the time he falls off your team is far enough ahead that you don't have much left to do.
