So they are moving some champs into the jungle

Instead of moving less played champs that just need a home, they are pushing popular champs that already have comfy lanes to go to into the jungle to try and bring popularity back to the role.... what?

I don't have the mastermind league brain to understand, but as far as I can tell the position is so unpopular you have to try and beg people to play it by bribing them by making popular champs functional in that role? What? Why not help already established junglers that are struggling or give these jungle buffs to champs that just have no lane strength versus the current meta?

Someone help me understand/debate this, as a jungle main that bit the bullet and adapted to the changes... I just kinda feel insulted.

EDIT: Thanks for the replies that are actually discussing my concern. I am aware this change IF it occurs is directed at low elo... but those changes still effect champions in other elos not just the ones they are aiming at (example, Darius will be able to heal off Baron and Dragon during fights). Why not put those resources to help established junglers instead of "widening the pool" with popular picks... that is the question at hand.

I seriously had to check my calendar to make sure it wasn't April 1st any time soon

the balance changes proposed are insanely bad,

the jungle changes are just WEIRD, not bad, but buffing tank items for damage is horrible, they're just continually fucking the game up more and more

Clarification: They are not "moving champs into the jungle," they are opening up the jungle as an option for certain champs

Exs: -- Zed will still be a midlaner, but he will be able to offrole as a jungler -- Garen will still be a toplaner, but he will be able to offrole as a jungler

et cetera

Because jungle is not an unpopular role; its unpopular in normal and low elo, where players generally pick more popular champs.

I think this is the correct analysis. Pretty much as they did for Pyke and Senna (ad hoc new champs) to allow autofilled people (main mid/adc) to play "support".

What? Why not help already established junglers that are struggling or give these jungle buffs to champs that just have no lane strength versus the current meta?

I think because they're so competent. And this game clearly is not turning into a mindless Mortal Kombat thing.

I feel like moving gnar into the jungle is a bonus though. No one likes laning into range harass as melee, so moving that into the jungle certainly removes that frustration.

Its really a great idea because jungle is so weak at this point. so glad they buffing jungle more. We really need stronger junglers. They should also give more exp gain so you are lvl 10 when top lane is 6 so its fair [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

I used to jungle teemo. I main him. I switched to top teemo after season 6 or 7 and the 3rd or so jungle rework for the 3rd year in a row and the changes to runes. It was shitty to relearn my path and build and how to kite the camps every year, what to prioritize and stuff like that, what to do in the pregame with runes and masteries/runes reforged, and stuff like that. So im mostly a top, but i jungle some.

I think the reason is that, in games, people often abuse the jungler. One of the best strats to win is just shut down the enemy jg early. Roam into his jg and kill him, or find the side he starts, have your team clear his other side, then leave him hopelessly behind. Something like that. If there isn't drag control, which might be because botlane is ass, the jungler gets blamed. if top is camped, the jungler gets blamed. When every lane is feeding, the laners all blame the jg. SO i think rito thinks "theyre junglers, they can take it" and they just fuck the whole meta of jungle every season.

I don't know.

The best answer I can think of is that RIOT is so bamboozled by what the jungle is and does that they are just taking any random-shot-in-the-dark idea and trying it to see what happens. I'm not sure if they understand that jungle is not a lane.

I am on the fence because there are some champs I do like playing that if they were in the jungle I'd actually try jungle and bother learning. As is I don't like playing champs like J4 or Xin or Yi or Lee. Those champs just aren't my cup of tea, so I don't have a problem them expanding the pool into like Talon or Zed and so on.

I do agree however that they should be fixing some champs that are already junglers FIRST. It isn't even that they aren't meta they are just bad in the jungle period.

Why is it SO hard to read the gameplay post that was made explaining it???

It literally stated that low elo HATES to jungle. So, to make jungle more desirable for low elo plebs (iron, bronze, silver) they give popular champs a way to jungle. It's not about moving, it's about enabling other champs in the jungle that are rather popular in low elo.

Reading isn't hard, especially if you are already from an english speaking country.

Snowbrand2/12/2020, 6:04:05 PM1 votes

I mean, getting some new junglers doesn't mean you can't help other struggling champs or jungle champs too. They aren't mutually exclusive as you say
