What kinda defense/boots do you even build against morde?

It's confusing, do you build Tabi, do you build merc treads? I just don't know at this point

Doesn't it reduce the damage of his Q basic attacks by 12%?

That doesn't sound that bad.

It only works on abilities that modify the damage of the basic attack, not abilities which deal damage as a separate instance of damage.

Mordekaiser's Q isn't like Viktor's where it modifies the basic attack to deal magic damage?

It used to be, but IIRC they changed it in his rework.

The wiki doesn't list it under modified basic attacks, although that section is missing a few I think. Like I am pretty sure Wukong's Q should be there but I am too lazy to test it.

My guess is it got recoded from scratch and the way it used to work probably wasn't even taken into consideration.

I don't think it does. Rylai's works on his Q so it is coded as a spell and not an auto attack. That is also why Titanic hydra doesn't work on Morde.

The underlying autoattack is still there so you can apply onhit effects like Titanic Hydra. It's like Jax W except you get 3 hits before it wears off.

I guess I was mistaken. It is the active that doesn't work properly. It doesn't reset his auto if his Q is active. Either way, Ninja Tabi is a bad investment against morde when the actual auto part of his Q is only doing up to about 145 damage at level 18.

Any, with T2 boots any champion is faster then him anyway. Merc Treads give you some MR against him, but tbh you could build mobies and just walk away from him xD

If you are playing anything that doesn't want to fight him up close you should get swifties to stay out of his reach once he gets Rylai's. I would highly suggest building an Adaptive helm if he is fed because all of his damage except his E repeats. It reduces the damage on the second and third hit of his Q, his W, and his ult (including his ghost basic attacks).

You Build MR. Adaptive is really good vs his ult.

If Morde buys AD it = More magic Damage.
