@Riot what is your plan to help hawaii and alaska?
Because this ping is literally the stupidest I've dealt with in this game. And it's affecting others in the games I play aswell.

Riot: "plan?"
you forgot to add the entirety of the west coast
cali player here with a stable 200-400 ping and 800 on lag days
Apparently they plan for us to switch to DoTA2, which has a west coast server. That's what I'm doing anyway.
And honestly, though it's somewhat painful to learn given how ingrained LoL is, it looks like a much better game. The item actives actually do things besides just dam/speed/zhona. The champions are much more diverse. Movement is ballistic (it take a little bit of time to turn) and ranges and cast times are longer, which makes fighting slightly more about situational awareness and less about reflex (and less about latency too :).

I picked up Dota 2 2 weeks ago and I find it entrancing as to the variety of heroes there are and how each of their kits feel unique and different as opposed to "generic skillshot 1 and 2" Or "generic gap closer"
That being said Bane is a badass and my favorite so far and I haven't even had a chance to play more than a few others but so far I'm loving Dota and it's complexity. It honestly makes league feel MOBA-light or a starter MOBA.
As for the ping, I'm livid. I've been livid since the day they did it, I've been lagging since the day they did it. I will still play league until the day I'm either banned for my horrible games recently or they close out the servers. But during my shitty games I'll still be enjoying the fun ones like Smite or Dota.

I refuse to play at all as it is. I only played ranked and there's no way I'm going to subject myself to the inevitable slide. But what really pisses me off is the way it was handled. Riot made a big fat noisy show of announcing it, but unfortunately:
If they had instead said something like this:
"Sorry west coast, we're going to be screwing you temporarily. Please stay with us while we sort out a way for you to play ranked with each other at tolerable ping if you prefer"
I would have a lot more respect for them.

- They never offered any real believable explanation for the decision not to make two servers or some sort of hybrid solution
- They tried to pretend the experience was somehow going to be overall good for west coast

Best post regarding the situation. Nails it.
It seems like their current solution is to keep quiet while jerks change the narrative that people are complaining about going from 10 to 60 ping.
So many threads lately completely brush our problems under the rug because they want to preach and create their very own "gotcha" moment to the few people that did complain about a 60 ping. It's depressing that people act that childish, but hey it's funny to see it back fire when the only line they're left with is, "Um well there aren't as many people in Alaska, Hawaii, and North Western Canada."
Let's hope they learn to stay honest with themselves, and admit they don't really care and just wanted to look smart.

I officially have a very large disdain for east coast players now because of their new attitude about the situation.
When east coast had high ping and they asked for their own server most if not all west coast players agreed. Now that the tables have turned a vast majority of east coast players have pulled the good old fashioned "Just deal with it" routine. Or have mocked most posts inquiring about large latencies or lag spikes.
The biggest offender in Alaska and Hawaii is also lack of a competent and well fitted ISP, considering the biggest one on the Kenai peninsula is ACS (Alaska communications) And they're service is borderline piss. Considering I pay 130 dollars a month for 15 down and 1 up.
