With zhonya cost increased so high yasuo and zed are just obliterating any potential ap picks. I have always hated those kinds of champions because they made things like karthus unplayable.
Really think that league is getting pigeonholed from these two champs alone.
I mean any skillshot AP (a lot of them are) just get completely destroyed as yasuo and zed laugh at them even TRYING to land something
Amarajah3 votesi don't think zed is an overpowered champ, there is a lot of counterplay to him besides zhonyas even, not to mention it is still there just you can't rush it to make him useless right away

the death mark buffs might have been a bit overkill though, it seems he has to do/hit a lot less for the mark to do an extreme amount of damage
all in all though, counterpicking has been important for many years and often you get dumpstered or pushed out playing someone of equal skill yet alone better than you with a favorable matchup
Zed always dumpstered immobile mages, even with the old cheap zhonya's

Zed is more problematic simply because he has poke that isn't mitigated by mana costs. Whoever thought that was a good idea was crazy, but I can also outplay him with just about everything listed above.

I can only disagree on Xerath vs Yasuo... If you beat a yasuo as xerath after lvl4 then that yasuo should have been a cripple or something.... But the rest are good against him. Not sure about swain tho, it is a skill matchup imo. Annie tho.... She just spills her diarrhea all over his face...

A match history alone doesn't indicate much because we only see the end result and not the proccess. But, in general, if you are better at your champion than your opponent is at their champion, you will always win. It's simple as that.

Zed on the other hand I feel is a skill match up. You do not need Zhonya's to beat him with most mages. it just...is your safety net if you make a positioning mistake. Zed is super mobile, can close a huge distance and a lot of the time you have to respect that and be aware at times he has kill potential on you. If he has kill potential on you,its almost always better to back, surrender a wave or two rather then feed him a kill and lose that wave or two. I used to have big problems with Zed's, but honestly in this meta he is still pretty bad. falls off way too hard late game. not only does his dmg fall off unless hes built a fair amount of crit, but there are so many champions now that can counter him and EASILY its ridiculous.

Although Yasuo needs a rework and Zed's W buffs were the wrong buffs imo.

Zhonas doesn't actually cost more even though the price went up, the general gold income was increased at the same time as the price change soooooo it's not actually more expensive than it was before. Sure the stats got nerfed but i mean come on, nobody buys it for the stats. The active by itself is worth the gold.
are all still great picks, the item changes definitely didn't put an end to them.
Also, how are you even playing with yasuo in your games? He's been permabanned in every game i've played since the item changes. Anyone who doesn't ban him at low elo is just ASKING to get destroyed. Bans exist for a reason.
I don't know why you would ever play a skill shot mage vs yasuo or zed in the first place. You don't pick
