Why are some people still acting like assassins are OK right now?
I'll probably get hated on because of saying this, but... Assassin's are far from being alright for the game, and this has been only going worse and worse just until the recent Electrocute "nerfs' (who were just an hidden buff, since its much stronger early now, helping its users to snowball even more now).
You look anywhere in the game, and the only thing you see are just assassins. They are supposed by design to be high skillcaped champions who are rarely picked and only by those who knows how to use them, but nowadays anyone can just pick one, miss almost every skillshots, and still be able to kill pretty much anyone safely.
And still, some people are arguing that assassins need to be yet again buffed while using the worst excuses possible, like "marksmans are getting buffed, so assassins needs some compensation too", "mid lane was dominated by mages for years, its only fair to see assassins smash them most of the time for once", or even "Tanks are keeping assassins from doing their jobs, so they should get more means to either bypass them or kill them too". In any single meta, there will be people who wants assassins to be stronger for ANY reason, and now that they are indeed way too strong and that Riot is currently looking into that, they want compensation buffs or anything that will keep them at the top.
No assassin should get massive pickrates No assassin should be at the top of the winrate list No assassin should be able to bypass their weakness by any means
They are supposed to be hard champions meant to be played by a minority of higher skilled players, not "go to" picks who result in higher chances of winning. Assassins who have positive winrates in permanence are far more problematic for the game than those who have negative ones. They should feel counterable outside of "outburst him before he bursts you".
That was me ranting just like always. I don't do this because I want people to see their favorite champion become trash tier, but because the game could be much more enjoyable while still having a small but distinct niche for assassin players for them to display their skill outside of just being overadvantaged. I'm a
main , and I very rarely play competitive, but I understand why he has a negative winrate and I know that he definitely would be problematic if he ever gets too high. I'm also very bad at him, but it does make me smile whenever I manage to use him properly and effectively, and this is a feeling that I'm sure a lot of players enjoy too: picking the champion that, even if underadvatanged, can still be a force to reckon with when you do manage to get in one of "those" moments. This is how a lot of assassin players felt back when the meta wasn't in their favor and, even if my opinion is probably biased, I feel it would be better to bring them back to this, and not for giving an advantage to another champion pool (like with Marksmens in S7), but for putting everyone on an even ground.

's escapes?
and shadow
do not belong in the same category as
.
misses every single shuriken, he can still take down a squishy without consequences with only an electrocute procced by Auto-E + ult, and I have the feeling that Zed shouldn't be one of those "simple assassins"
being stupid. They're fine.
