So I was thinking as a jungler, your red side is twice as important as your blue side and I've been experimenting (I'm plat 3 atm and still climbing).
What if you clear red krugs raptors then either gank or back and get a dorans blade (and refillable, haven't seen the gold numbers values yet) and then fight for the scuttles with a d-blade+ pot advantage.
W is for Wombo1 votesRaptors is already a viable alternative start in solo queue for some jungle champions, especially those who can suffer greatly from invades at the blue side (Rammus for example). Though usually after gaining level from Raptors they can handle taking red buff pretty efficiently on their own as well, allowing them to then clear Krugs and move in for first gank if the opportunity is available. After clearing red side you end up with 232 gold from those camps, plus the additional passive gold which would likely leave you edging toward 500 gold (~488 I believe) on this hypothetical first back. While this would be enough to purchase a doran's blade, it would not put you high enough to upgrade to corrupting pot or buy refillable pot (though honestly, refillable is a good start coupled with initial jungle item anyway as you can buy both with your starting gold). The problem from here is making it from base to river, and unless you're sacrificing flash for teleport, I don't see you contesting someone for the first scuttle using this method. Honestly, I just see moving from red side, taking blue, and then trying for scuttle as being the safest option still.
