Vote to dodge option in champion select

Edit from feedback, entry 1:

The number one thing I'm hearing out of people is that you don't want to wait so long in champion select. Ok, so add this as an option for queueing. And also, there is some hypocrisy in that you would waste more time having no fun if you got stuck in that queue.

This is something that has been highly requested for awhile, I'm just bringing it into the light again. Example one: In blind pick champion select, no one talks and says what role they want, so the resulting team is this: Kayle KogMaw Jax Pantheon Tryndamere

Example two: In draft pick (ranked or otherwise) champ select, two people in the same pick (for the sake of this argument, 2nd and 3rd) both want the same role, and so they both instantly lock their favorite champion for that role. Chaos ensues, and nobody wants to play that team, but no one wants to dodge and lose league points either.

If people agree that the team is going to fail, and no one wants to do it, they should be able to vote to dodge without a time penalty. I personally think it should require 3 votes to dodge, because realistically, Riot, you won't want to have it work for anything less than majority rules. However, even if 2 people on your team don't want to deal with this team, they should be able to dodge without penalty because of the morale hit they will take from champ select alone. Honestly, losing confidence before game shouldn't be caused by your own team's picks, and often it results in a big waste of time.

Edit, thinking about this a bit further, the number of votes required would need to be upped in case the presence of a duo queuers, otherwise the votes would be too heavily skewed.

A good way to split up the issue would be to have half of the players on the team split into a later part of the queue, resulting in only half of them having a chance of ending up on the same team in their next champion select.

Please leave your feedback below. Thanks, stay beautiful, don't set fire to anything I wouldn't, (said Brand ), and have a wonderful day.

This right here is what always stops these ideas from getting the green light. What stops people from simply saying "oops we're not going to win, lets dodge without a penalty"

Like in your first example? That team deserves each other. They deserve the loss, and by your description they all contributed to the hole they find themselves in. They don't deserve a free re-do where they can just do it again and hope the new team mates can fill in the gaps to make a proper team.

Far, far too many people would dodge because they didn't get their role/champ than because of an actual, legit troll. Of course, if it's anything like a surrender vote, then all it takes is the troll and one other person to stick you in the match anyway.

But I am reasonable so I'll compromise. Since in voting to dodge you're wasting everyone's time and conceding the game is a lost cause for your team, you can vote to dodge, but it counts as a loss for your team and a win for the enemy team.

I could see the practical application. But at the same time people will just vote to dodge if the don't get their wanted role or champion.

I guesse the OP cannot see how this would cripple champ select, in any division/format, soloQ, ranked, what have you. It would be as one other put it 'horribad'. Sorry OP not trying to be a douchie douche, but it would make champ selection an almost endless series of votes, I can see going through ten twenty team serlects before every match, is that something you want to take part in, going through team selection 20 times to get that awesome team that has three trolls on it anyways, trolls were so bored they just decided to play whatever, they just trolling anyways, but you wont find that out till your in game.

good idea. it actually helps to fix some of the dodging problems.

I guess if you make it unanimous and not in ranked that would work but anything less than 5 people voting yes in a non ranked game would be super abused.

Bad idea is bad.

Stop playing "blind pick".... play Team Builder.

Problem solved.

Make it ranked only or at least normals draft. Blind isn't nearly serious enough to warrant it. Good idea for ranked q though
