Heimerdinger's passive feels kinda useless under most scenarios

It's an invisible-power-no-gameplay aura, gives health regeneration (which doesn't help in a lot of scenarios), and in reality doesn't keep his turrets alive for any longer than if they weren't affected by the aura. If someone wants to kill one of Heimer's turrets, it'll die. Otherwise, the passive just doesn't contribute to any of Heimer's gameplay, other than making his early laning oppressive (and Riot tends to hate Champions who do this).

Meanwhile our newer Champions get all sorts of cool passives, but Heimer... yuck.

I could talk about Champions like Mundo, but let's focus on our inventor, okay?

One thing I need to point out is Heimerdingers passive actually DOES NOT affect him only his allies and his Q turrets. This is the reason he has the highest base health regen in the game to make up for a passive that literally does not affect him in any means. This insanely high health regen actually meant a level 11 Heimerdinger with 0/18/12 (taking Recovery, Runic Armor, and Perseverance) masteries with old banner and a zzrot would actually have 30 HP a second (150 per 5) and could be extremely oppressive due to it basically being kill him or watch his health skyrocket. That being said it is a near useless passive as if someone wants to destroy a turret as you said they easily will. If/when Heimerdinger receives a rework a passive aura like his along with his health regen should definitely be looked at.

On a side note heres Heimerdinger health regen level 1 being 11.005 HP per 5 seconds compare top the second highest being Sion at 10.18 HP per 5 seconds. Now fast forward to level 18 Heimerdinger base health regen is 40.08 HP a second while the second highest is Darius at 26 HP a second.

Tl;dr Heimerdingers passive doesnt affect him and due to this Riot gave him absurdly high health regen.

This was done in order to make Heimerdinger work properly with HP regen items. Before he got such an absurd amount of base HP regen, his base was about 1 per 5 seconds and didn't grow. This made HP regen bonuses completely useless to him because item-based bonuses only multiply your base HP regen.

Completely true. I only made the above post to talk about Heimerdingers passive and health regen just in case some people were unaware of his passive not actually phasing him.

they should just swap heimer and sions regen makes much more sense that way

It would make sense thematically however it isn't likely to happen. As stated the only reason Heimer has this health regen is due to having a health regen passive that doesnt affect him.

Are you kidding? Do you know how annoying it is to lane against Heimer early game when his passive just heals up all your harass?

darkdill1 votes

That's just another reason why he needs something new: his current one leads to early-game lane oppression. Then later on, you don't even know it exists.

Isn't that what balance is though? Vaynes weak af early but turns into a monster late game. Why can't Heimer be an early game champion and fall off late?

There's better ways Riot can go about that besides a flat HP5 aura.

The rest of his kit is pretty interesting though. Unlike DrMundo.

I'd like if Riot reworked him once again and focused mostly on turrets (WITHOUT LASERS).

Then his new passive could work with turrets or something and be better.

(WITHOUT LASERS)

yes pls

I honestly don't know why Heimerdinger doesn't have a passive like Azir's where he could build on top of a turret's wreckage, or attach a friggen laserbeam to an existing turret for a limited amount of time. Heimer is supposed to be all about technology and turtling. Giving him access to a strong defensive option like this would really help drive him in a more interesting direction.

You know, that would be pretty awesomesauce.
