Tryndamere now converts any attack speed that would put him over 1.25 attacks per second into damage

so that the dps remains the same.

Why?

Cause attacking 2-2.4 times per second with Tryndamere looks kind of silly and destroys the illusion-- his sword ways a ton and his autos are supposed to be be ponderous and backbreaking.

The dps could be figured as a bleed if people are afraid of single auto burst

Why are you building over 2.0 AS on Tryndamere?

To have that much AS, Tryndamere needs +198.5% AS. He gains +2.9% per level, or +49.3% from leveling, which means you would have to build nearly +150% AS in items.

Phantom Dancers are normal on him, so he has to build +94.2% more after that.

To have that much AS, Tryndamere needs 298.5% AS from items. He gains +2.9% per level, or +49.3% from leveling, which means you would have to build nearly +250% AS in items.

Phantom Dancers are normal on him, so he has to build +194.2% more after that.

15% from frenzy, 5% from fury, 29% from runes, 25% from berzerker greaves, 50% from zephyr, 40% from botrk, 40% from shiv, and 2.9 * 18 % from levels makes 256.2% total.

0.67 * (1 + 2.562) = 2.387

  1. 2.9 x 17, AS per level does not count the first level (for some reason)
  2. To get 29% from runes, you'd need to put both Marks and Quintessences
  3. This still doesn't answer "why are you building so much AS?" Why do you have Zephyr and BotRK?

Exactly. You shouldn't be building that much AS on Tryndamere. Crit is where its at.

Have you seen new Sion with AS and crit? He changes from a giant axe warrior to a bad dancer, kicking everyone. Maybe Nautilus, the guy who suddenly starts basically throwing his anchor due to how fast he's attacking? Or Caitlyn, the sniper who spends most of her time shooting a lot of bullets everywhere.

It seems really silly to make one change for a character when almost any character will look silly at that high AS/crit.

An interesting idea, but if we're talking about the 'illusion' being maintained, a lot of other champions would need this exact same change made. At least one springs to mind immediately.. Caitlyn. She's wielding a cumbersome sniper rifle but can somehow fire off several shots per second with pinpoint accuracy while running? Sounds like a severely dislocated shoulder waiting to happen.
