Game should be balanced around the highest levels of play. Then we would not only see more diversity in worlds, but have an actually balanced game. It would only appear imbalanced in Bronze-Gold where people cannot play certain champions, which... it's already like that.

And it makes perfect sense. Group stage is a best-of-one round robin. You don't have room to play around with picks and teamcomps. Every game is do-or-die right now. If one team manages to like 4-0 their next 4 games, they might get some room to play around with some more unusual picks, but even then, don't count on it. There's just no room to play something that's not proven right now. The Nocturne pick lucked out, but even he admitted it almost cost them that game. You just can't take that big a risk then the stakes are so high with every game.

TurquoiseYoshi1 votesThis is by far the most diversity I've seen in basically my entire time of watching pro League (since early S5). Support diversity kinda sucks because of Nami's bullcrap, but I've seen at least 5 champs played moderately regularly in every other role.
SmileInABox1 votesI'd rather watch intense play with a solid team comp, than crap like TSM's Kled pick that led to a baaaaaaad loss. And of course the pick pool is small for groups, games aren't a set. There's no time to develop counter strategies or ban power picks for specific players.
