i've found my main and i love him so i won't be changing but as a previous ADC main i love the look of Xaya and as a previous ADC main i love the look of Rakin as support he has everything but looks also to make himself vulnerable, i can't wait to see them in action.

as long as the shield duration Vs Absorption isn't too high i think he'll be fine, his ultimate is great, it enables a lot of combo combo's.

The base shield isn't crazy but it has pretty good AP scaling. I could see him being played in mid because of it. Concept wise, I doubt he'll succeed very heavily in a solo lane because he's a champion that has to go in the face of enemies to do all of his damage, but we'll see.
