People should play Nasus

Sèx Craved Eve··155 votes·5,582 views

He's an okay pick if you can get to that point, but why I think more people should pick him up is because he promotes a passive playstyle. He teaches you how to not uber feed your lane partner and I'm not gonna lie to you guys... Some of you really need that.

Not a bad post, I brought you back to 1.

TheThundersRoar21 votes

I tend to do that before even reading the posts.

There is a horde of downvote trolls who instantly bring every single new thread on the gameplay board to below 0. Many go back up once the actual readers check them out, and many reach +400. But it does influence the reader when they see a thread at -1.

Supreme Senpai6910 votes

I do this for posts too. If i see random downvotes that don't make sense, regardless of what I think, ill upvote em. The fight against downvote trolls is a long and thankless one tbh

Melledoneus4 votes

Then let me be the first to say... thank you.

Gene Imori1 votes

"People against downvote trolls" you should make this into a group.

SociopathFriend2 votes

Also on occasion people don't even read the thread itself- because posting a 3 paragraph thread and having downvotes seconds after posting is just silly.

I had one game over 800 stacks and was still useless, because my team was suiciding, so every fight was 3v5, and Nasus can't anything vs exhaust + CC. I think that there are better juggernauts than Nasus this season.

morris13 votes

Yeah, what most people fail to see is that you can't just deny Nasus stacks (even if you camp him he can still get 400 by 20 mins), however you can make him useless by counterpicking and using CC on him.

Supreme Senpai696 votes

I had a tryndamere top and i was jungle. Enemy top laner was Nasus. I got spam pinged all game to "deny the Nasus stacks!!" even though Trynd was under Nasus' tower all game.

no tryndamere

thats not how this game works

statelesskiller1 votes

people dont know how to fight nasus. they think simply pushing him under tower is enough NOOOOO. that only slows the fucker down it doesnt stop him. if he has 20% cdr in his runes like i do ill be just fine under tower go ahead. but im good about freezing it right infront of my tower.

cinomenapplebae3 votes

you ask for ganks multiple times, then when they say something like "stop camping me noob" ask them "why do you want our jg to stop camping you" and they will answer the question missing some stacks since they need to type it out.

I type /mute all right when i get into game. I have been doing that the past 6 months ago and my winrate has been much higher.

EndlessSorcerer3 votes

Honestly, under my tower is where I want to be since I can't be dove and it limits the enemy's ability to harass me.

I'll generally just freeze the wave outside my tower for most of the game.

Troll for Trump2 votes

All juggernauts are pretty bad as of now... If you count Trundle as a juggernaut he's probably the only one doing well.

Nasus is the kind of laner that's a ticking timebomb... all the team has to do is buy him time to get what he needs for the game. I for one love Nasus because he teaches you 1) Farm is good, 2) Tower farming is ok since it gives him free stacks and denies enemy farm, and 3) Once you reach God Mode, no one can touch you. People just have to be more patient with Nasus, that's what makes him so difficult. He teaches you restraint in lane, where the others reward aggression.

God Mode? You can't Q more than once before you die lategame. Nasus was a god tier jungler before his wither was nerfed....

3ofGot40ve1 votes

Lol.

Best Foxx NA1 votes

Let me put it this way. Nasus in late game can get kited in the wrong circumstance, but what he does well is wait for a pick. A well timed wither will catch out even the most fed ADCs and put them Six Feet Under! His Q late game is on a 3 second cooldown, so he's got plenty of damage if he's farmed up. On that same note, if he's farmed up, he's got plenty of tank items with sustain built in through items like Spirit Visage and his passive so as long as you stay attacking something, he's nigh-unkillable.

Trust me when I say this, Nasus late game can and does go God Mode. Don't 1 v 1 him late.

TheThundersRoar9 votes

I think every player below level 30 should play Nasus to rank 3, at least. He teaches you to back down and just farm your way to a lane victory.

Nasus in sub-30 and low Elo doesn't win because he's strong. He wins because Nasus players actually farm. It's honestly not so much that he has 400 stacks at 20 minutes, but it's that he has 150+ farm at 20 minutes. His items actually give him a huge edge over the severely underfarmed. The stacks and kit are just a bonus.

General Esdeath 6 votes

2 lessons you learn playing Nasus/Fizz.

  1. Sometimes you gotta play like a bitch, lose farm, and maybe exp, just don't feed.
  2. Late game is not a win, spike in mid game/early late and dominate before they can come back (unless they have a bad team comp).
Melledoneus1 votes

Really? Because I all-in with Fizz at level 3 and get a kill 96% of the time.

...maybe that's because I'm below Bronze V.

General Esdeath 1 votes

"sometimes"

and in higher elos from bronze people counter pick with early game winners like Lux, Diana, Lissandra, and Fizz can't do much.

Galío1 votes

This. Nasus is God Tier right now if you can get enough stacks by mid game, however once it gets to late game everyone has enough armor to where you do no damage.

Jasiwel6 votes

I don't know about you guys, but I always sigh with relief when I see a Nasus. So much better to have on the team than a suiciding Yasuo Top that didn't pick with the team in mind. At the very least, Nasus can tank.

A good nasus will split push all game untill inhib is gone. A bad nasus will usually team fight every chance he gets, and be generally useless.

Blackstone013 votes

No, a good nasus will tell when it's a good time to split or when it's a good time to group. A bad nasus with either push all game or suicide in fights all game.

HateDaddy5 votes

nasus also teaches you how disappointing the real world is. I've had games where I've had 1k+ stacks and lost because their zero farm support pressed two buttons on me and made me completely useless

He is supposed to be intellect after all so his well rounded teachings are a benefit to society

Unfortunate Game4 votes

I feel like when it gets to late game you just get kited super hard, plus he gets fked in a lot of hard matchups, but I personally love him late game, and seeing him.

(LAST GAME, had a nasus 1k STACKS) Was sick.

His playstyle is so toxic please for the love of god no.............

Passive playing is toxic? Isn't more toxic to play against Azir, no matter what u fucking do u can't zone him from cs.

Dukues1 votes

Either he is stuck top lane farming stacks half the game not allowed to help team who losses game in 4v5 or he gets enough stacks and snowballs the game solo. Either way, toxic experience at least in low elo. Also, most Azir players in low elo can't play him well enough to fully capitalize on his ability.

Best Foxx NA1 votes

With Azir, you can't necessarily zone him from CS but if you sustain and farm through his unending push early, he's forced to back for lack of mana. After that you can shove the waves into his tower and roam. Then come back to lane as he comes back to shove it out again.

statelesskiller2 votes

as a top main it is my belief that any person that plans to play top as there main need to play 3 champions

  1. nasus. he promotes good lane control the importance of farming and turret pressure as well as a passive playstyle that is the best kind IMO

  2. vladimir (the old one at least i need to think on this opinon now but it will get my point across) he promoted a passive farm and poke play style as well as taught the value of sustaining in lane. surviving the poke and knowing most importantly WHEN to go in. even now a vladimir cant just GO IN and expect to win with no items. he needs his CDR before he can do that because his E and q just simply can deal enough damage with one use

and 3. ryze. ryze teaches the importance of waiting for the right opportunity to strike. building up your passive and then blow your nut on them and incompletely obliterate them. he also teaches how important each individual ability is in your combo

Biff Manly2 votes

He also teaches the importance of csing!

...at the cost of not fighting any enemies until the 30 minute mark, but still.

Project omen2 votes

Nasus is a good pick if you want to learn about the concept of farming and splitpushing (which, in my opinion, is more important than teamfights). In mid-high elo, he gets easily countered in teamfights, since kiting and cc are his worst nightmare, so it all comes down to just farming and pushing all game, and eventually duel 1-2 people that come to stop you if you can't run away.

forresto2 votes

nasus is my dawg. that said, he has some problems right now just because of how hard it is for him to get to people.

Fritterz1 votes

I take movement speed quints, and armor and MR runes. That combined with Deadmans plate and a few air dragons... It's just beautiful. you can run anyone down and dodge most skill shots. Wither the target, drop your spirit fire on their face and one shot them with your q. mmmmm....

forresto1 votes

I like to take lifesteal runes and warlords :3 it's beautiful. for items I take gauntlet, deadmans, and zzrot for movement/slows. the gauntlet field gets HUGE with this much armor

Sasogwa2 votes

If Nasus could actually have a pseudo decent teamfight presence, maybe he'd be ok, but he's just outright trash in high elo.. Like, Nasus only powerspike possibility is to farm very well while having a garbage earlygame and manage to miraculously end up in a fight as soon as u left stacking with around 400+ stacks at 20, wreck the teamfight and snowball his team. And hope they don't have too much CC and mobility.

Basically it's hoping your opponents have a bad draft and a bad game.

Only Play Darius2 votes

Yea Nasus's teamfighting is just so awful, and this season he can't compensate by splitpushing like a god. I just play Darius now even though I like Susan more.

he can farm well with proper runes and positioning against 90% of match ups he can easily pressure on different lanes giving his team an advantage, since well farmed nasus is on of the strongest champion in the game in between 20-30th minute mark. he has huge weaknesses obviously, but he is not as vulnerable in solo q

Shaponja1 votes

DO NOT play him agains teemo tho. I became a fucking satans spawn after i had 860 stacks, was fed and ulted, and the little noisy fucker just blinded me and i was fucking useless. Also his shrooms... ugh.... you cant reach him... UGH !

venomous frost1 votes

The thing about playing passive is that you will never feed, but you will never carry the game either. If you want to climb you have to make the plays and not rely on your opponents to not abuse your weaknesses.

statelesskiller1 votes

why do you think playing passive wont carry?

venomous frost2 votes

because by playing passive you rely on

a) Getting an advantage in CS therefore having more items b) outscaling your opponent

a) just stops working after a certain ELO where everyone is capable of CSing properly + when everyone's Cs is equal, the one with kills will be stronger b) you are relying on playing a champion that scales really well AND your opponent not abusing your weak points.

Also just the general fact that by playing passive you essentially just wait for a late game teamfight to be won, and lategame teamfights are pretty much a 50/50 chance, not to mention if your teammate gets caught out the game is over anyway.
