I think they will change something with buffing crit so much in the game or else he will just be a monster

Eedat26 votes

He already is a monster on the PBE. He gets 100% crit from just item 3087 + item 1018 on PBE. Add this to the new mastery that is just insanely broken on him: Warlord's Bloodlust

Warlord's Bloodlust: Critical Strikes heal you for 15% of the damage dealt and grant you 20% attack speed for 4 seconds (2 second cooldown)

So now Yasuo gets 100% crit without even having to finish 2 items and gets a free 15% life steal. He doesn't even have to build a life steal item anymore.

Now the end result is an preposterously strong RESOURCELESS early game Yasuo with crazy sustain, damage, and shields against the currently gimped AP mages that have absolutely no way of dealing with him with the removal of mana pots. He's more or less pick or ban on the PBE right now. I would be curious to see the actual statistics

Wait thats not a fair statement cause he gets 15% lifesteal EVERY 2 SECONDS thats actualy a big difference your statement is very misleading 2 seconds is league is a lot of time now the 20% attack speed might be a little broken on him i could see that being crazy

Eedat14 votes

2 seconds is league is a lot of time

LOL this is a joke right? He still gets a free 15% lifesteal on a 2 second cooldown

Slamurai Jack7 votes

Consdiering that Yasuo be normally be proccing lifesteal 3-4 times in that 2 second window, yes, 2 seconds is a pretty long time. 15% lifesteal every 2 seconds does little more than give some sustain in lane and a slight boost in dueling power. It is not a substitute for a lifesteal item. Not even close.

eaglei32 votes

No one is saying that it is as good as a life steal item, but the new mastery has helped lower his one early game weakness of low health and low sustain.

For example, as a mage in mid lane, you have to poke him first to get rid of the passive shield, then hit him with spells. For a lot of mages, his new sustain from the mastery at a 2 second CD has potential to go off 3, 4, sometimes even 5 times between a rotation of spells coming off CD.

I played on the PBE yesterday and it really is not as op as people think, Mainly because of his crits only doing 90% and his Q crits doing 75%, I can promise you that fiora with her damn e (Slow and Crit) will be alot more bullshit. What Yasuo really needs is some cd increase cause that shit comes up to fast to do anything about IMO

15% of 90% is only 13.5% healing 15% of 70% is only 10.5% healing

Kitten of Evil5 votes

15% of 90% is only 0.135% healing 15% of 70% is only 0.105% healing

What. First of all, your healing numbers are inaccurate as you forgot to move the decimal. 15% of 90% would be 13.5%. 15% of 70% would be 10.5%.

Secondly, don't you mean 15% of 180% AD and 15% of (30/60/90/120/150 + 150%AD)? After all, he does have base damage of 100% AD and the mastery heals based off the whole hit's damage. His crits don't do 90%, they do 180% (instead of 200%), and his Q doesn't do 70%, it does 150%. 15% of 180% AD = 27% of AD healing 15% of (30/60/90/120/150 + 150% AD) = 22.5% of AD healing plus 4.5/9/13.5/18/22.5.

This is assuming no IE to increase crit damage too.

Whiteeye Avelyn1 votes

Your right but it still stands that its not that big of a jump with his core items item 3087 +item 3031 at level 10 he still only has 160 ad,

Also you are forgetting about the 75% reduced crit damage on q

But i will go and update the numbers

Kitten of Evil7 votes

Q's damage isn't 75% reduced. Instead, a Q crit only deals 75% of total crit damage (75% of 200% is 150%). His normal hits do 90% of total crit damage (90% of 200% is 180%). With IE his Q deals 187.5% damage and his normal hits deal 225%.

The problem isn't that it's tons of damage, the problem is that Yasuo is built to almost always crit, and having 15% of that damage healed back every 2 seconds means he will be impossible to push out of lane once he grabs Shiv. He won't even have to build lifesteal (although he probably will build it later anyway).

Let's assume he's maxed E first and has taken only one point in Q. With IE: (160 AD + 20) * 187.5% = 337 damage dealt per Q hit, which heals him for up to 50.6 (15% of 337). Every two seconds.

Edited for number clarity

Whiteeye Avelyn1 votes

yea your right im a idiot on that one XC sorry, i do agree tho he does need a nerf to his damage i just know that he is a fan favorite for alot of people ( i have grown to pref fiora cause the ult minigame) so it will be hard to not break him and give him the numbers he needs.

I say Drop the double crit chance to a 1/3 of crit

Kitten of Evil2 votes

No worries! I really enjoy Fiora myself, but I'm a mid main so it pays to be aware of Yasuo -- I see him in probably 1/4 to 1/3 of all my mid-lane matchups lately.

Why waste runes just so you could have an agility cloak and say you got 100%? Why not replace those runes with something useful?

WhatAGeinius1 votes

You don't need crit runes for 100% crit on Yasuo on the current PBE build. Shiv gives 30% crit chance, Cloak gives 20%, 30+20 = 50, 50 * 2 = 100.

But even on the live build taking crit runes isn't a bad plan.

OnanThaMan6 votes

If he remains unchanged for the preseason, i'm expecting something along the lines of pre-nerf warwick when item 3715 dealt true on hit, rather than a Dot, him dealing insane amounts of damage while healing for shit ton. Except Yasuo will likely get special treatment and be nerfed very carefully unlike Warwick.

1: Dash's have a 10 second CD on the same target. 2: Dash's require enemys, if you don't have any besides your one target, your kinda scru'd and have no mobility :l

Çhåryzård2 votes

and if you have minions in your lane you have a LOT of mobility, plus his windwall will block pretty much everything. Add that to the fact that he gets a shield by moving around.

Was there a change that I'm unaware of? I thought Yas already hit 100% crit with IE and Static on live.

The issue I'm seeing here is the 15% life steal on crits. Instead it should be reworked to scale off your crit modifier.

This way it's weak until you pick up IE and the total should be 7.5% at 200% and 15% at 250%.

So Yas would get around 6.75% and 13.5% with IE while his Q gets 5%-7.5%

LittleBlast7 votes

On live ie+statrik gives 80% crit.

Gutting a champion does not provide balance, it's simply a salty way of saying that you don't want the champion valid anymore.

Yasuo shouldn't be balanced, he shouldn't even be valid, because the meta is warping to be insanely favorable to him.

AD Assassins are getting buffed with the addition of the Giant Slayer item, giving them a % buff to their raw damage output that will allow them to burst down tanks.

AP mages are getting mega nerfed with the removal of mana pots and the nerf of Doran's early MP/5.

Marksmen are becoming even more important which means assassins will be completely necessary to shut them down.

If Yasuo is going to be necessary in every single game he needs to be nerfed, otherwise he will be perma banned and Yas players won't even get to play their favorite champ anymore.

Not really getting nerfed, considering mana values on champions were raised across the board.

Not all mages are getting the mana buff though. i.e Ahri isn't getting the +50 base mana -3 mana/level, or the +.5 MP5

Expanded mind is also being removed and it gave 25/50/75 mana. So even compensated champions are being nerfed if they took expanded mind.

That's because she's played as an assassin, not as a Mage. Just like Morg and Zyra are getting the bonus MP/5 instead of the base because they're played as supports.

NineTailedMystic2 votes

Considering Riot had changed her in 5.2 due to the DFG removal to be a kite mage and her primary role as a champion is listed as "Mage". Even then she still uses mana and the removal of Expanded Mind means she'll be stuck on her base mana pool of ~350, meaning her decently costing spells will drain her mana fast. Q is 65 mana scaling to 85 I believe, and Charm is 85 at all ranks so she will have very few chances to retaliate in case of harass.

Her primary role is listed as Mage, but Riot is very aware that is not how people choose to play her, and therefore they are balancing around her actual role rather than her intended role. Same with Blitzcrank, Leona, Zyra, Morgana and Annie.

Sucks that it's happening to you, I know. Supports have been putting up with it for a while now.

Let me get this strait, you think Yasuo should be nerfed so hard he's not even playable anymore? What if that happened to a champion you enjoyed? I'm not saying he doesn't deserve nerfs, in fact I think he's going to be too powerful in the new meta(This coming from a Yas main), but I still want to play him in ways that are challenging yet rewarding. So instead if bawling to Riot to "gut" a champ, provide feedback on what is wrong and what you would recommend to fix it, otherwise you just sound like a spoiled child that is angry that he can't beat a certain champion.

I suggest a rework to his passive, moving the shield to his W, that way he sacrifices either damage or survivability, no longer able to go in on a whim because of a borderline spellshield. this would push his offensive to at least level 3 giving the enemy champ plenty of time to farm and counter.

If Yasuo's shield was placed on his W active his ultimate would not be able to refresh it, making it a serious risk for him to dive teams with it.

Also it would give his shield a cast time, and Wind Wall's cast time is pretty significant. The only shield in the game I know of that has a cast time is Tahm Kench's E active, and that's because it's usually for 90% of his total HP.

I think you misunderstood, it would still remain as a passive, but simply requires a skill point to be activated. Perhaps the amount of flow you gain can be increased with each level you place into that slot.

Oh. That could certainly weaken his first two levels, and deny him some CS, but the core problem of him being able to easily spike into 100% crit chance at around 17-20 minutes remains.

It's also a nice way to deal with a champion who is about to receive an insane amount of indirect buffs. Because you know, I actually like being able to play this game every now and then. And that's not going to happen with Yasuo getting 100% crit early + 15% lifesteal on crit + mana pots being removed + mana regen still sucks in general.

Yasuo is already obnoxious to deal with, generally he outpushes mages early on. So you want to deal some damage better get rid of that passive shield first then, but because he is pushing that wave you get alot of damage from his minions when you proc that passive. Meanwhile he puts up his windwall to absorb your spells then dashes on you if you are too close and deal even more damage, the he dashes back and his passive is back up again preventing any furter return damage. You now sit on 50% hp he has taken no damage and sits at 100. And every time you kill his shield minions damage you for an auto attacks worth of damage its just lame as fuck. Usually my strategy is start flask hp pot and 2 mana pots and try to outpush him then harras him with spellspam and outos and outsustain him but that option is gone in new patch.

SgtCrispy4 votes

but because he is pushing that wave you get alot of damage from his minions when you proc that passive.

Auto attack him once and back off. You won't take much, if any minion damage.

Meanwhile he puts up his windwall to absorb your spells

Like a 26 second cooldown that he maxes last

dashes on you if you are too close and deal even more damage,

If you break his passive you should be looking to aggress on him with your spells, not the other way around. Even if you let him push it's also super easy to freeze the wave on him since he has no ranged waveclear.

Yasuo is like one of the easiest champions to deal with in lane after his nerfs. Yeah he's broken as balls on the PBE but there's really no excuse for not being able to handle him on live. If you really can't deal with him you probably shouldn't be playing mid.

The only broken thing about him is the fact that he uses no mana. RIOT just can't balance manaless champions: they are op or trash.

Serious question: what would the effect be of removing his double crit chance? To me it seems so superfluous. Obviously he would need some compensation buffs for such a major change, but why does Yasuo need double crit to function?

ARequestOfDeath2 votes

well since the marksman era is coming we are gonna need yasuo strong as possible

WhatAGeinius2 votes

You would have to buff his stats to a pretty ludicrous degree to compensate for the removal of his double crit.

That's not to say that I would disagree with it if you could actually find a suitable replacement, double crit chance is probably the biggest balancing nightmare in Yasuo's kit, but I really don't know what you would replace it with.

Stars Shaper2 votes

It would mean that Riot has to give him another steroid.

Now lets see if you'd prefer Yasuo having bonus AD, True Damage, % enemy max hp damage.
