Question of the day: Who has more Base health at lvl 1 and 18: A. Jayce B. Rammus C. Shen D Nasus
Answer: Jayce.
Fix your game riot.
Answer: Jayce.
Fix your game riot.
I'm...I'm not sure you understand champions, Sebsauve34.
Shen has a shield that scales with his maximum HP, a built-in heal, an on-hit that scales on his maximum HP, and a move that reduces incoming auto-attack damage by 50%. That's a lot of inbuilt sustain + defense, and a health-scaling damage move on a tank has high base scaling by default, especially since the cooldown drops quickly the longer he attacks.
Nasus has innate lifesteal for durability, Wither to gain a lot of survivability against auto-attacking enemies, an ultimate that grants him up to 600 bonus health, and a Q that has unlimited scaling and can easily get upwards of 400-500 bonus damage on a 2.4 second cooldown in the hands of a half-competent Nasus.
I really think you either don't understand these champions well, or you're looking at different champions. They may not be the most POWERFUL champions out there currently, but saying Shen doesn't have defenses steroids and Nasus isn't a durable character with the potential for massive damage is just patently false.
Stop making yourself look like an idiot. Seriously. Shen's shield scale with a amazing 0.5 AP ratio which he builds none of, so it doens't scale at all. His Taunt is just mikhaeled or QSSed therefor you dont get the 50% reduced damage and if an ADC let's himself get taunted without using his dash to dodge it, he is awful.
Wither -> Mikhael/QSS = useless. 600 HP is just an extra auto attack for a ADC and it has less than a second CD, so that's nothing and good luck Qing a ranged champion as Nasus.
I really think you don't understand this game well.
If you use either Mikhael or QSS on Wither you deserve all the CC that comes afterwards.
Only reasonable time to do that is if Nasus is the only one you're fighting.
Cause people totally have mikhaels/QSS at lvl 1...
I really don't see people building either of them. They are not a normal build item for most champs so its not really a valid argument. Otherwise we have some other itmes that can be talked about.

And Jayce is a ranged character. One with a self-peel knockback and an MS steroid at that too, he shouldn't have tanky base stats.
Ah, you are correct: I thought his shield scaled with maximum health. My apologies.
Regardless, the ability to have something Mikhael's'd or QSS'd doesn't make it useless. Or is any low-damage high-CC ability in the game useless by default? Because that seems to be the logical conclusion of what you've said.
Either way, I've concluded you're either making a "Jayce OP nerf Jayce" thread, or you're intentionally obtuse. So I'll take my leave and let you keep whatever opinions you may have about the game. Good day, sir! :D

...they are
Top tier champions generally either have multiple CCs, and uncleansable CC or kill you so fast that mikaels doesn't help
Nasus is only good for splitpushing, as with many melee top laners, because he knocks towers over easily and is hard to duel. He doesn't do shit in a teamfight just like Tryndamere.
Jayce is already a mobile high poke champion with great laning and decent disengage, why does he also need higher base HP on top of his free hammer form resists?
lol wrong about Nasus.
Nasus destroys in teamfights once he gets enough stacks. Just wither the adc, and drop spirit fire in the middle of the fight.
There's a reason me and charles are diamond and you are bronze.
There is also a reason that the mejority of players looking at this thread find you to be an uneducated bigot :)

Those drugs must be amazing
Lets look at some facts shall we? So, as we all know, A tank's job is to peel for his carry, and/or cause disruption. Nasus has exellent peel for his own carry, and, can do stupid amounts of damage with his own Q. So he can also delete enemy carries/frontliners. Lets not also forget the armor shred of his spirit fire, and his Ult's AoE.
Now, nasus's weakness in teamfights is of course being kited. However, the new Item, Righteous Glory, helps to fix that problem. Lets also not forget that Kiting Nasus will not always be possible, as you seem to think. As Masticatorr said, there are many champions that provide excellent CC that would allow Nasus to get into the fight, and do damage. Your "perfect teamfight", is not always going to happen.
Plus, everytime the enemy team blows a spell, or an auto onto you, instead of your carries, you are doing your job as a tank. This is common sense, even though people seem to forget about that. As far as the drugs go, well, I could use a bit more ;)

Instead you can run Maokai and actually get on top of the enemy, instead of running at them with Nasus and hoping you have a perfect storm team comp (lol people arguing team comps in solo queue) so you don't get kited to oblivion.
More often than not Nasus is going to get shit on in roughly 4 seconds and maybe Q the front line once or twice, then die
And Righteous Glory doesn't do shit for the person with it if they get slowed and have no innate gap closer, as the speed boost goes mostly to waste and they are at half hp by the time they reach anything
That may work in low elo where supports don't peel properly, but it certainly doesn't elsewhere.
And what does this have to do with Jayce's free stats again?
I'm not really talking about yolo queue. The game in general, which includes 5v5's.
I never said anything about Jayce? :3

K then where are all my Darius focused team comps in competitive play
He has to be good at teamfighting because if you run Amumu Sona Ori Jinx he can hit the enemy team, right?
And the thread is kind of about Jayce's stats
I don't know why you are so fixed on Darius. Never mentioned Darius. lol
Im not the one who brought up Nasus. I was simply responding to someone else's comment. So, take that up with him?
You shouldnt have responded at all if all you are gonna do is talk around in circles......
Edit: Darius isn't classified as a tank, just so you know.... So if you were trying to compare him to Nasus, well, no comment.

Don't dodge the question
You're claiming Nasus is good at teamfighting because you can build an entire team comp that allows him to teamfight
Can I claim dogs can fly if I put one on a plane?
Well yes, you can. Because they would be in fact flying. You would simply need to mention the details of said statement. Your argument is kind of weak.
This is a team game.
The Meta is focused around building an entire team comp around the carry, so what you are saying is literally what the entire game is right now.
That aside, Nasus doesnt need "An entire team focused around him". He is not the carry. Darius however, can carry. Sadly, melee are outclassed by ranged, and resistances are very weak due to void staff and Last whisper. These are known problems with the game.
AS I said, comparing Nasus to Darius is well.... not smart. They serve different purposes.
I also mention Righteous Glory, which by itself, allows Nasus to team fight very well. I also mentioned the whithering of enemy carries, which will blow a qs if they have one, and his utility in spirit fire. You are the one dodging questions by constantly reverting to "lol thread is about Jayce". As I said, (Once More), I am responding to a comment in this thread.
Nasus can teamfight. He can teamfight very well depending on the enemy comp, and his comp. Also, if we are talking about solo q, then duh he is viable in teamfights. Solo q is all about capitalizing on enemy mistakes, thus, Nasus team fighting should be easy if you are a competent player.
AoE damage, Peel, AoE Armor shred, and (Depending on Stacks), High damage output. Sounds like a teamfighter, doesn't it? Now, of course, Nasus is an excellent splitpusher, and is very good at doing so. But claiming that he "Cannot Teamfight", is just simply not true, and flat out wrong. He has a teamfighting kit.

Yes, it is a team game. Building a comp around a duelist so they get to "duel" the ADC by handing it to them on a silver platter does not make them good at teamfighting, it just means you made a comp around them.
Tryndamere has AoE damage, peel, AoE AD reduction and high damage output, as well as 5 seconds of guaranteed life. Sounds like a teamfighter, doesn't it? He can even build RG as a defensive item.
Except he can't actually function in a teamfight, because there is far too much mobility and peel for him to hit anything, same as Nasus. Listing off a kit and claiming "well he does AoE stuff and can build RG" doesn't actually make a teamfighter, because as I addressed he still gets shit on by displacements and slows regardless of RG's speed boost.
On the one hand you're claiming Nasus can teamfight because your team can work together to get him on a carry, and on the other you're claiming solo queue is unorganized so the enemy team shouldn't be coordinated enough to stop you. Which is it?
Tryndamere is, again, not in the same class as Nasus. Are you even trying?

You still havent grasped the fact that Solo Q and 5v5's are two different things. Also, neither one of those contradict the other. You can end up with 5 intellegent players in solo q, that you can divise a plan with in champ select, while at the same time, the enemy team just randomly locks in champs. The chat is there for a reason.

You must not be able to read. I never said Nasus is supposed to "Duel" the adc. Reading comprehension will get you far on these boards. Refer to above comments, or ask any player with a decent understanding of the game, as to what a tank is supposed to do in a teamfight.
Now, back to tryndamere, he is a duelist, not a teamfighter. He does not have as much cc or utility as Nasus. However, your gonna love this, he can teamfight as well. He simply needs lockdown, which (Guess what), a lot of carries need. Leona or Malphite solve that problem. He is not a valid example against Nasus, because, as stated about Darius, they serve different purposes. However, Tryndamere is much better used as a splitpusher. He can bring alot to a teamfight.
Claiming that Nasus, Tryndamere, and Darius cannot ever be useful in teamfights is absurd. Even more so with the resurgence of Sivir, and with the addition of Righteous Glory.
You seem to think that just because a champion is amazing at one thing, they cannot be decent at another. Nasus, is good in teamfights, because he can A: Peel, B: Do lots of aoe damage, C: Do very heavy onhit damage, and D: Shred and entire team's armor allowing his Carry, who will usually be a ranged adc, to do alot more damage.
Darius, after lockdown is applied, as he is not an initiator, can A: Delete the enemy carry (If they are locked down), B: Protect his own carry (No good openings), Or C: Do as much damage as possible. Darius's typically build some tank. Again, if the focus you down, which they will have too, more breathing room for your carry.
Tryndemere's is very similar to Darius, but is not as tanky, and does not have a kit that is as burst oriented. However, his ulti gives him psuedo tank, so lets account for that. His job would be very similar to an adc, or lets say, yasuo. Deal sustained damage to whoever you can. Primarily enemy carries. As long as he is doing damage, he is being useful, as that is tryndamere's job. An added bonus is that if they focus all CC on trynda, your adc/apc should have more breathing room.
By your logic, Garen, Skarner, Volibear, Nunu and alot of other tanks/fighters are bad teamfighters. We both know not that is not true.
Now, are some of these champs more effective at split pushing? Duh. Can they teamfight if need be? Again, duh. Every champion has something they can bring to a teamfight. In a good comp, they can, and usually will be with cordination, successful. The champion, and strategy, pool is much larger than just what the pro's play. As a diamond player, i'm sure you would know that ;)

Alright lets run down, because this is giving me brain damage
First off, you can make the claim "WELL YOU MIGHT HAVE COORDINATION AND THEY WONT LOL" as many times as you like, it doesn't actually make it valid
A good teamfighter doesn't need someone to hold their hand just to enter a fight, that's completely against the definition of the word and it boggles my mind that you are so willfully ignorant to that
Tryndamere has less reliable but AoE CC, unlike Nasus, and also has way better utility. Plus Tryndamere's slow/AD reduction doesn't have to build up to the maximum, it's just 60% right off the bat for 4 seconds
You can shred armor for about 2 seconds before the target moves out of it, Trynd is dropping your entire team's AD by 80 for 4 seconds no matter what. Sounds like pretty good utility to me. In fact I'd think Trynd was a better teamfighter because his utility is AoE, while Nasus is single target.
What is 600 HP and lifesteal when you can tank an infinite amount of damage for 5 seconds? Trynd is clearly a better tank, and he can tear through front liners easily
In fact, Tryndamere even has 200 more base hp than Nasus, so Nasus has a whole 400 hp and 8 base armor to match up to Tryndamere's ult
Damage wise Trynd gets up to 35% crit chance from his passive and up to 60 AD from his Q, as well as the resetting AoE on his E, Nasus gets an average of 110+500 damage that he farms up on a 2.4 second cooldown (max CDR of course) plus his ER magic damage.
Slap IE Cleaver Visage Randuin's Merc's Thornmail on Tryndamere and suddenly he's a better teamfight tank than Nasus
And still never used for teamfights because he won't be hitting anyone
And what is Nasus going to do to peel LB off his carry? Wither her 1000 range dashes? What if Malphite + Yasuo ult his team and go for his carry? Can he chain AoE CC them like Gnar can? No. Are you going to stun one, snare the other and slow them both like Liss can? No. Can Nasus deal with Azir in a teamfight if they counterpick your Nasus lock in? No.
You say "Darius simply needs lockdown" I say "Hi I'm Janna, have fun autoattacking"
And Garen/Skarner/Volibear are garbage at teamfighting for the exact same reasons. Skarner at the very least can be used in pick comps because he can flash grab a carry instantly, the rest aren't played anywhere for a reason.
Yes, because Janna is always going to be on the enemy team 100% of the time.
This isn't getting anywhere. You argue that "What If's" are not valid for argument, but then you use one yourself.
lol wrong about Nasus.
Nasus destroys in teamfights once he gets enough stacks. Just wither the adc, and drop spirit fire in the middle of the fight.
I agree with this here. Most people here on this discussion seem to be thinking of teamfights as in perfect mobile fighting clashes where someone would never even let Nasus get close to anybody. That's never the case; Nasus isn't useless in teamfights. What if per say a
gets an ultimate off? Nasus would get one Q off that fight, and already he's thus useful. He has the slow to target the ADC, who may QSS it off, but what about the other four people who might add additional CC on top of that, like an exhaust or a suppression?
You people need to understand that thinking things in the most perfect manner possible never works; In this case it's that Nasus would never be allowed to get to his enemies. But instead think of it as the worse possible situation, the more likely one in the broader sense of things, as what if a Nasus gets to surround himself with his enemies and lay the smack down? Now what then? Is he good, or is he bad in that situation? As a point I'm leaving out split-pushing in case of this argument. Nobody should argue his power there.
TL;DR What if Nasus actually gets to his enemies in a teamfight and gets to fight in it? You people say he won't even get that far. Now ask yourselves: what if he does?
QUICKEDIT: As to the Jayce thing with his health pool, why does Fizz also get the health he has? Riot needs to reconsider how they want the game to play. Seems like tanks are making somewhat of a resurgence, but only those with kit steroids seem to do okay. They still die far too fast for what it's worth.

Sej ults and Nasus runs in Janna ults, both Nasus and Sej fly out
You can argue team comps allowing champions to do well, even Darius can fit into a team comp
Except then you can assume the enemy is able to run a counter teamcomp, and the argument never ends
It is far more likely that Nasus is able to hit a tower than it is for him to have a perfect team comp and enemy team comp that allows him to reach the enemy team
"What ifs" are not a balance metric, I work with reality
Because theoretically Urgot functions in a Janna/Liss/Trynd/J4 pick/disengage comp, but that doesn't mean he isn't garbage
Who has better AD / AS scaling and thus is significantly encouraged to build less tank and more offense, and thus ends up significantly less tanky? Jayce
Who has poor offense scaling, strong base values, innate defensive steroids, damage reduction, and/or shields to bolster their defenses hugely? Rammus and Shen
Who has an amazing way to reduce incoming auto-attack damage, as well as innate lifesteal, an Ultimate that makes him incredibly durable, and a form of damage scaling that is consistent no matter how many defensive items he buys? Nasus
And now you know why Jayce has better base and scaling health: he's not going to be building anywhere near as many defenses.
Shen, high base stats with 220 Q and 190 E vs 280 jayce Q, 20% max hp E, defensive steroids with a 220 shield that scales with ap. Nasus, high damage, because he gets to auto champions as a melee with no gap closers and durable since he can take 1 extra auto attack fromh is ulti.
how can shen and rammus have strong base values? Is jayce's godlike and borderline broken then?
Jayce doesn't often build much health. Nasus and Rammus do. Next you're gonna complain that most adc's have very low base AD, right?
Jayce doesn't often build much health. Nasus and Rammus do. Next you're gonna complain that most adc's have very low base AD, right?
Yeah ADCs have low base AD so they aren't retardedly oppressive in lane
You know, a weak early game for a strong mid/late game? That thing Jayce doesn't understand
How come I knew this was a Jayce QQ thread before I even opened it?
I agree buff rammus.
Am I doing this right?
Hit me up with an "Ok"
Yep...cause fuck da police.
Wrong choice of words today, buddy.
Because Jayce has all those defensive steroids and scales well with defensive items amiright?
and who has most actual health at lvl 18 sion shen jayce or nasus ? definetly not a fking jayce
I don't see a problem here.
Kalista has more health at 18 than Morde and Nidalee way more than both.
Now who builds tanky and who builds damage? You're stupid.
But Jayce can't build any defensive item, or he'll be a wasted slot. Meanwhile, those other guys can build nothing BUT tank items and be effective.
